Hello all !

So i've just been reading the Frozen ever after dessert party thread ! Thanks guys for bringing it to my attention!

This will be my first and probably only visit to Disney Word during the first week of October. So I want to make it count.

I'd rather not spend time finding and waiting at a good spot to watch the fireworks at all the parks

So i'm planning on doing the following. What do you think? Have you done them? Is there a better option? Are they worth the money?

Day 2 (Monday) - Frozen Ever After Dessert Party.
Day 4 (Wednesday) - Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party.
Day 5 (Thursday) - Fantasmic Dessert Party.
Day 6 (Friday) - Rivers of light Dining package.

How fast do I need to book these? When do they normally become available to book?

THANKS !!!!!!

That's a lot of dessert. I would definitely do HEA but then look to pare the list down some.

Just so you know, Fantasmic does not have a dessert party, it's a viewing experience. Guests pick up a box with desserts, select a drink and go to a reserved bench seating area.

I would also recommend getting the Plaza Garden viewing for HEA. It’s a better view than the terrace and is also $20 cheaper. The garden area is not crowded so you can spread out.

For Fantasmic, will you be eating at one of the restaurants with a dining package? Then might as well get that rather than dessert-it’s the same viewing area. But really for Fantasmic, you can easily get a same day Fastpass or even see it standby.

There are thousands of places to watch Illuminations without paying anything more than admission. Unless you want the ride on Frozen Ever After following Illuminations, this one is a big waste of money.

The Fantasmic dessert package is another colossal waste of cash. The dinner package is a far better value.

Views for HEA and the Star Wars are limited. I would never spring for any of these offers, but I recognize that they give you something (a good view) that you can’t obtain any other way.

I was thinking about the star wars Fireworks dessert party, but don't those and Fantasmic clash time wise?

Which one is better?

Ok !! So i'm doing Terrace Fireworks - Garden view for sure . IF i can get in.

Good advice for Epcot. I will try and score a Frozen Fastpass. If i miss out i will do the dessert party. Will dessert party slots be available after the 60 day fastpass window though? OR i could book it? Then cancel if i get a fastpass? See! You guys are rubbing off on me .

So i will do either the Star Wars fireworks or Fantasmic. But which is the better show?

Any thoughts on Rivers of light?

thanks all !!

You really don’t need the Star Wars party. We walked up to a perfect spot 10 minutes before on a busy Saturday night. The party viewing area is too close.

If you have the budget for it, I would stick with your plan of attending the FEA party at Epcot. It was not a waste of money to us. We’ve watched Illuminations w/o fast pass, with fast pass, and via the FEA party. The party has the best possible view of Illuminations. Plus, the food and drinks are great, the seating is a huge plus, the atmosphere is very nice, the cast members are wonderful, and the ride in a closed park is the perfect ending to the day. We have attended the Star Wars party, the FEA party, the HEA party, and utilized the ROL dining package. The FEA party was the best overall experience with SW a close second. HEA was worth it to us for the viewing location (plaza garden) but the food and drinks were just meh. ROL is worth seeing once, but we probably won’t see it again. If you’re going to eat a table service meal, anyway, and you want to see the show, do the dining package because it is nice to be able to walk up closer to show time and have a seat. If table service at AK is not in your plans, just try for a fast pass.

Thanks!!!

SO

Terrace Fireworks Dessert party - Garden view --- FOR SURE !!! IF i can get in.

Frozen Ever After --- Will Reserve for now. May cancel depending on fastpass selections.

Would love more input on whether Fantasmic or Star Wars Fireworks is better?

Would love more input on if Rivers of Light is worth watching? Or is there something else I could do instead?

I would go with Star Wars, we did it and had a great time, we each got a souvenir cup thing, and we were able to meet B.B.-8 Chewbacca and Kylo Ren while at the party so didn’t take up other park time plus the fireworks are awesome

We did the RoL Dining Package at Tiffins. We enjoyed the show and the dining package allowed you to get premium seats with no waiting in line. You do need to be to the entrance at least 15 min early (I think), but there is a bit of a pre-show so you will want to be there on time anyway. We wanted to try Tiffins after all the great reviews. It was very good, and the fixed price menu with the dining package allows you to order one starter, one entee, and one desert, plus one regular beverage. As it turns out, I wanted the most expensive items in each category so it was a good value that way. If you didn't want all that, it may cost more. The other option (Tusker) is also well reviewed, but we were not interested in buffets on this trip. The one drawback is that you eat at least a couple of hours before the show, so our "dinner" ended up being in the middle of the afternoon, which interrupted our normal eating schedule and our pattern of taking a break in the middle of the day. If I were to do it again, I would plan on scheduling a mid-day (i.e. lunch) time to fit our touring plans better.

We are doing both the Star Wars and HEA Plaza Garden parties. Star Wars because I've read the best things about it and DH and I are big fans. It's a surprise to him. HEA we are doing solely for the viewing due to our kids ages. At 3 & 6 it will be easier on all of us to not have to stake out a spot in Easter crowds.

We also have a ROL dining package with a Tusker House breakfast, but we may end up skipping it if they are tired that night. If we do, are they a paper ticket still? If so and we aren't going, I'll try to hand off our passes and spread some pixie dust.

I’ve done all on your list and recommend them all, with the caveat that I would change the HEA to the garden view.

I agree with a garden HEA party, it’s cheaper and has a better view. This is a must for us from now on, we loved it. I agree that there’s no need for an Illuminations party, there are a ton of great spots. I love Fantasmic, and you can usually get a 4th or more FP for it the day you’re there. ROL package is great too and when we were there last it came with a free lotus popcorn bucket, not sure if it still does though.
