I booked a fireworks cruise charter on a 10 person patio boat out of Grand Floridian for my wife's birthday. There will be four of us on board and we paid $424 after tax. Do we tip the captain? If so, what is an appropriate tip? Just trying to make sure I have budged enough cash on hand for these things.

My goodness that would be rude! It's bad enough that people tip cows but the captain will have provided you a service and your thanks is to knock him over? Remind me never to do you any favors...

Trying to book a charter fireworks cruise for Tuesday October 19 but the line is always busy. Is ther any alternate phone numbers to book fireworks cruise. Do you think I will be able to get one with this short notice? Thanks!

When I called it was at 3 AM on the west coast right when the phones opened on the first possible day for booking (60+10 out) and by the time I was connected to a cast member I was told I was able to book the last one for our day, and from what I'm told it is very hard to get a booking. But, they tell us to call and confirm our booking two weeks before the date, so there may be a cancellation or two that pops up. Give it a shot!

Call the main line at 407-939-7529 and select the option for recreation bookings. I waited several hours on hold to connect, but the cast members on the other end are quite helpful once you can get through.

We tipped but not sure how much as my father in law beat me to it. I am thinking it was probably between 30 and 40.

15-20%.... boat captains carry a lot of responsibility chartering on the water and have skills most people will never see. (and thankfully so)

Always tip on the total BEFORE tax. Never understood why people tip on taxes and will never understand a business making a suggested tip amount utilizing a total including the tax.

Hello,

we have a pontoon fireworks cruise booked. We are not clear if we can purchase or bring our own alcohol on board. The front desk team at the grand Floridian said we could bring alcohol on board in plastic containers, but they seemed a bit clueless about the booking.

i am worried we have been given incorrect information and on hold forever. Any ideas?

We were told the same thing, but they said a bottle of wine would be OK when we were at the dock. Best be prepared with non glass just in case. You are in for a real treat, the fireworks Cruise was by far the best thing we have ever been able to do at Disney World.

I don’t believe they still exist but we did an Illuminations cruise and it was incredible. I know Illuminations is gone but I hav heard of the cruises being resurrected for the newer shows.

Agree with others concerning the tip

So yes can confirm alcohol ok in plastic bottles - we were sure to tip our cast member who was awesome as well

We have always tipped the captain, usually 20%, I am surprised about bringing alcohol onboard. I was told you had to order it from the yacht and beach club, and have always done that, as they said you couldn’t bring our own onboard.. Has anyone brought their own alcohol onboard?

I brought some cocktails on board. They were purchased at the Yacht club but I carried them myself on board.
