Hello,
I will be taking my family for their first trip to DL (three daughters ages 4,7,10) and was wondering where the best places to watch the parades and fireworks were. Where does the Pixar parade stop for interaction with the kids?
Where's the best place to sit for Fantasmic without having to scope out the site forever in advance? I will be going from Aug 11-15.

Thanks,
Ben

If I remember correctly, the Play Parade doesn't really stop for interaction like the Parade of Dreams does. They just do for a brief moment and then move on. Getting a spot by Bountiful Valley or the Golden State area is a good spot for the Play Parade.

There are lots of good spots for Fantasmic, but it also depends how long you're willing to wait and how early you want to get a spot. The front by the Rivers of America is always fun bc you get to see everything up close, but you have to get there early since it fills up and then wait forever for the show to start. A good view is standing on the bridge above POTC or behind one of the rails by the plants, but some of them you can't stand by. It also depends if you see the earlier show or a later one bc the later you see it, the less crowded it will be.

My favorite viewing for fireworks is on MS. I perfer being in the middle, but sometimes it just gets too crowded that I can't be that picky. Standing behind the ropes in the middle of MS where a crosswalk is made is also good bc ppl have to keep moving and someone really tall won't be stuck right in front of you. I've had that happen to me many times lol.

Hope this gives you some ideas!

In the middle of the hub around the circle can also be a good spot, but you'll need to wait for at least an hour.

The Pixar Play Parade moves constantly - no stops like the Disneyland or the old Pixar Block Party one. Also, be prepared to get wet! Everything in that parade squirts! View it on the hub - great place is where they park the strollers for Playhouse Disney. That way you aren't looking into the sun and you will be the first to finish watching the parade - it comes out of the big gates to the left of the hub Sun Fountain. You'll be finished with it by 5:35 or so and have easy access to anything on the Hollywood side, Soarin, or you can even head into DL and get a good street spot for the 6:30 parade there. The 6:30 parade starts at Main Street, the 3:30 one starts at Small World.

I'm not so good with Fantasmic - kids are too little to understand it yet and not be scared.

We had to stand but we walked right up as Fantasmic was starting and leaned on the brick wall. The second time we saw it we stood right behind the chairs, right in front.

We rode HM and POC with no line. There were a lot of people there but they were waiting for Fantasmic.

Then we went down to the smoking section there on the lake.
(gotta stop that)

Took our FP to Indy.

Great night!
