Fireworks and parade location

As this is our first trip to DL, does anyone have any advice on where to watch the fireworks, the electric light parade, or any other parade? We will be there Aug. 5-8, with our two girls (ages 3 and 4). Thanks for any info!

My preferences are:

Main Street Electric Parade: Across from the vineyard restaurant up against the fence with the water behind me. A quick trip down to the margarita stand and not very crowded.

Fireworks: At the end of main street by the xmas tree flower garden (the flower garden between the flagpole and the beginning of main street). Hard to explain, but great view because if you are up against the chains for the flower garden, no one is in front of you!

The Electric Parade is over at the California Adventure Park and in general that park is hardly ever crowded. Still it is easier to get a closer spot (without spending to much time waiting) toward the end of the parade rout which is near the Golden Zephyr, Orange Stinger area.
The parade at Disneyland is much more crowded. We like to grab a spot where we can sit for a while before hand. Next to the Alice in Wonderland ride are som restrooms. Just down the walkway a hair ( across from the Matterhorn) are some benches formed into the stone with lots of trees and plant behind them. Grab the seats here. Not very many people can get in front of you and you can sit until ( and sometime all the way through) the parade.
I like to watch the fireworks from the middle of Main St, between the Casey's Coke Corner and the photo store. Generall I don't do Main St. for the fireworks because it is too crowded but these fireworks are worth being there for. If you don't want to brave the corwds there you can get a beautiful view of them from the water front in front of New Orelans Square or a close up view of them from the plaza in front of It's A Small World.
