Im in a dilema!!!!!

Am visiting DL for the first time this year and we are only staying a few days. I would like to see both the Electrical Parade in CA and the Fireworks in DL..... but looking at the schedule both are done on the same day. Is it possible to watch the Electrical parade then see the fireworks from CA....or hop between the parks after the parade has finished go in DL to see the fireworks...if the distance isnt too far????

Anyone have any thoughts - best place to stand etc???

Thanks

Disneyland really discourages people trying to get from one park to the other for these two shows. They schedule them close together and have just a handful of cm's working the gates to slow people down. It makes main street to crowded if they dont control it.

You could probably see the arial fireworks from the area between the two parks. But, you would miss so much of the show. You would miss all of the effects on the castle and matterhorn, Tinkerbells flight (anyone confirm if Tink is still flying with the 50th over?), the effects around the hub. The show really is awsome and should be seen from inside the park.

If you were super quick, and missed the last couple minutes of the ELP, you might be able to get across and to the train station on main street in time. But, you might not make it, and be stuck between the parks missing the end of ELP and the fireworks!

I agree. Disney has purposely selected the times of these shows to make this virtually impossible. This was done for crowd control reasons.

And IMO the fireworks show is way, way better than the Electrical Parade. I would recommend skipping the Electrical Parade and dedicating the time to the fireworks show.

The only way that I've ever been able to do it is to watch the ELP from the starting point (which used to be down near the boardwalk area, but I haven't seen it yet this year, so I don't know if it is the same starting place), and then leave about halfway through the parade in order to get over to DL in time to catch the start of the fireworks.

IMO, it's better to just watch one or the other. I think I would probably choose the fireworks in your situation, because they really are fantastic.

Or better yet, stay an extra day so that you can see both shows! ;)

Thank you for all your comments.

We have seen both the Electrical parade and the fireworks at WDW Florida. Can anyone comment if the shows are the same as there????
If they are then we may well decide to see the fireworks .... after all your comments.
we are going early June and they are only doing these shows on a fri/sat/sun, most probably because its early in the season? We are travelling from LV on the friday and thought we would visit a park on Saturday and then later in the week...didnt really want to do 2 days on the run!

I do not know about the Electrical Parade. Was it at WDW? It is not the same as SpectroMagic.

IMO the Remember Dreams Come True is far better than Wishes at MK. It is a spectacular fireworks/laser/special effects show. If you can see it, you should see it.

The Electrical Parade at California Adventure is not the same as Spectromagic at Magic Kingdom. Similar in theme and concept (very similar) but different floats, music etc. I like the Electrical Parade better but agree that if you only can see one, Remember is better. And I also agree that Remember is way better than Wishes. It starts off the same but then branches into something longer with more visual affects and hoopla. You won't be disappointed, its really amazing!

Even though DLR discourages this as mentioned above, it is not impossible as we successfully viewed both in January. This is how we did it.

We viewed the EP at its starting point, right near the Godlen Zephyr. Once we saw the last float of the EP (the salute to America), we stood up and walked briskly toward Golden Dreams and veered left and took the backtrail behind GRR. We were then able to exit DCA just as the EP was reaching Sunshine Plaza. We were able to enter DL gates and get half way down Main Street to find a spot right in the middle of the street. We still had about 5 minutes before the fireworks started.

So don't let anyone tell you it can't be done. It can, if you plan carefully and have good luck with crowds. :thumbsup2
