Can anyone tell me where in the CR is a good place to watch fireworks? Is it the 4th floor(not sure what exactly is on that floor) Can you view them from the bar/longe called the outter rim? Any details would be greatly appreciated. thanks

From the Grand Concourse level (4th floor), go out the doors at the end near the gift shops. There is an observation deck there facing the MK, and they pipe in the music for the fireworks as well.

another question on the view......I understand that if you have dinner reservations for the califonia grill you will be able to view the fireworks from somewhere but not sure where that you get a special priviledge to view them if you dine there. (i think the 15 floor which I have no idea what fl the CG is on)
Also, I am staying at the CR for the first time and was wondering if even during the day if there is any view that we are allowed to go on the top floors to see the scenery? Anyone know?

What floor is the Outter Lounge or Bar located on? Do you have a view from there?

Thanks and sorry for all the ?'s;)

If you would like to have dinner at the California Grill you can call 407 WDW DINE and make a Priority Seating. It is similar to a reservation, but more like having a place saved in line at a certain time. If you would like to see the show I recommend a seating about 30-45 minutes prior to the start of the show. If you are interested in the menu you can view a fairly recent one at allearsnet.com, under the Dining/Menu section.

If you are staying there and are in a tower room, on the MK side you can see MK fireworks, and I believe on the Bay Lake side you can see EPCOT fireworks.

The other bars/lounges and shops are all on the 4th floor, which is also where you take an escalator up to the monorail level. The only exception is the fast food counter that is in the arcade on the 1st floor.

It is a beautiful hotel, one of my favorites!

The California Grill is located on the roof of the Contemporary Tower.

The rules have changed where you need to be a patron of the CG to go out onto the catwalks that are located outside of the CG.

At each corner of the Tower there's a small viewing area that leads to emergency stairs. The 4 catwalks connect from the small viewing areas to the CG.

The 4th floor (called the Concourse) contains several shops in the north end of the Tower (facing the MK). In the south end is Chef Mickey's, the Concourse Steakhouse, and the Outer Rim lounge.

As mentioned below, the escalator to the monorail station is also found here (next to the elevators).

From the Outer Rim lounge, you can see the Polynesian Resort and Grand Floridian Resort. You may be able to see the MK, but I'm not positive on that.

The Outer Rim lounge looks out over the lake. It is located just outside the entrance to Chef Mickey's. The last time I was there, you could watch the EWP from the lounge, but you could not see the MK or Poly.
