Hi all

I am looking to get some pictures taken during Wishes in my wedding gear. As we will not be allowed into the park in wedding atire, I am trying to decide the best photo spot during Wishes to get these taken. Having looked at the resort map it seems that The Contemporary Resort is closest to The MK. If we were to be on the beach there, do you think we could get some good firework pictures with us in them?
Initially The GF was suggested, then The Poly. Does anyone think any of these resorts would be suitable? If it isn't possible to get good pics, I'd rather save the extra money that it will cost to get my photgrapher to come back.
So what I'm really asking is do you think this is worth it, will I get decent pictures?

Thanks for the input.

I can only vouch for the Polynesian, on the beach or at the end of the dock. The fireworks are a bit in the distance - but it's a nice idea.

I don't know if you can see them from the beach at the Contemporary. If you got access to the California Grill viewing platform, that could work; but short of you and the photrgrapher having dinner together, I don'tk now how that would be possible (and setting up and posing would be VERY conspicuous with the other diners jockeying around).

I would think the GF beach or dock would be a great placee because it's closer. Others would know better.

The problem is going to be one of scale, since you will be fairly close to the camera but the fireworks will be quite distant, the fireworks will be very small in relation to the people.

The beach at Contemporary is on the side opposite Magic Kingdom. There are balconies on the side facing MK that would give a good view of "Wishes" but again the issue of scale is a problem.

My suggestion: take your photos on the beach of Polynesian or Grand Floridian, against a blank night sky, and patch in the fireworks and castle later. That way you can get the fireworks any size you wish.

We watched Wishes one night from the Poly beach in January... it is fun but you're a long ways from the fireworks. Here's a couple samples.

You'd probably want a tripod and you'd have to use fill flash to light up you and your new husband. Keep in mind that these are zoomed in pretty far, they'd be pretty small behind you two.

One other option is to take the photo from the Contemporary itself. I haven't been up in the California Grille so I'm not sure how easy it is to take pictures there, but you're probably as close there as anywhere. If you can't get in there, you can go out to one of the fire escapes (you'll probably want someone to hold the door, otherwise you'll have to walk all the way down to ground level) and there's a terrific view of the Magic Kingdom from there.

Just frame the photo so you don't see the parking lot and the guardrail and you could probably get quite nice results.

Another option might be the large outside deck on the north end of the concourse. We had a fireworks cruise scheduled for a family gathering at Christmas 2004, but at the last minute we were told the boat had a mechanical problem and the cruise was scrubbed (money was refunded). As a Plan B we were told that we could move outside and watch the fireworks from the concourse deck outside the north end of the CR. The view the fireworks was pretty good.

I will post this on both of your threads to make sure you get it.

This is an option, but if you do this, make sure you are very early b/c that spot fills up with people very fast. For a picture like this, I believe you would want to be on the park side of the monorail track, which only accounts for about 1/10 of the viewing area. You could probably slide all the way down to the far end and still be able to get some decent shots. I do not think that you would want a monorail in your shot though b/c with a long enough exposure to properly capture the fireworks, the monorail would blur from moving.
