We're heading to FW in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone knows how bad the smoke is down there. Also, I'm a bit nervous to stay in a wooded campground with wildfires raging all around.

You dont have anything to worry about regarding fires on WDW property. They are protected by their own fully staffed professional fire dept ( Reedy creek emergency services). You could check but I am pretty sure they also limit outdoor campfires during periods of dry weather.

Don't worry about the fires, on our trip last week we did not notice any smoke.

Campfires are not allowed in individual campsites, there is a campfire program with a fire to roast marshmallows but it is contained in a fire pit.

We just got back from WDW Tuesday and as far as the fires go its will depend on the wind. We had times when the wind would shift and the smoke was very bad, then a wind shift and you coulld not tell there was a fire anywhere to be found. The bus Driver told us the fire is a swamp fire and is burning down into the ground which is the reason for the thick smoke. They have burned down about 4' but can go as deep as 20', The fire itself should not give you any problems but the smoke may be a prob for some peaple.
