Fire!!!!

An hour ago (4am) I was running round the streets in my jammies DH heard crackling noises looked outside and next doors hedge was on fire!!!!! It is a 20ft conifer hedge and the flames were right to the top So after phoning the fire brigade we were waking everyone up, couldn't believe nobody had woken up anyway The men got the hoses on it and it was nearly out before the firemen got there. I was standing outside waiting for the firemen and they stopped a few houses away I had to wave for them to come down, I was outside at 4am wearing my dressing gown what did they think I was doing other than waiting for them Well it's all out now and theres not that much damage really but I can't get back to sleep so I thought I'd DIS Oh it turns out next door had a BBQ yesterday and chucked the coals near the hedge

Thanks everyone, I never managed to get back to sleep and DH just kept having dreams of fires The DD's were gutted they missed it all, makes you realise that it will be a very long time till we leave them on their own I doubt if they would even wake up for our own smoke alarm!

I did have my dressing gown on too, it was running up and down the street shouting through letterboxes that was embarassing

When I was younger our smoke alarm went off and I didn't wake up, nor when an ambulance came to take my Mum to hospital.
