Fire of the Rising Moon - Dining Package

I am excited to try this event simply for the odd food. We are going on November 17 so I will let everyone know how it was.

Is it worth the money? Probably not
Can you see the show without the package? Absolutely !

My expectations are not high but I love to try new experiences so we’ll see what happens.

Can't wait for a review!

Where did you find reservations on the Disney website? I see Fantasmic packages but not FotRM packages.

It looks like if you go in the app and search docking bay 7, you can make reservations

I think it sounds fun! Can't wait to hear what you think.

Oh, well that's lovely if Disney is only offering the package on the app and not on the website. I tried multiple days for DB7 on the website and saw no mention of a package. Neither did a search on the DL website turn it up.

Oh, I see what they're doing. It isn't called "Dining Package" but rather "Nighttime Gathering." I had gone straight to the reservations page and hadn't noticed that they have a description of the new non-package further down the DB7 page:

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/docking-bay-7-food-and-cargo/

And unlike Fantasmic, the Fire of the Rising Moons page makes no mention of there being an associating dining event available. Seriously, do they want to make this hard to find???

I was contemplating this but it is very expensive and I don't think we would like any of the offerings. Also if the fireworks are cancelled there are no refunds. I think we will just wander into the area close to fireworks time and grab ourselves a free spot to watch them.
We did this last weekend. We had a reservation at Oga’s. We came out a couple minutes before the fireworks started & got a spot on the edge of the crowd. It was very easy. I can’t fathom paying for standing room only viewing for a show that’s so easy to get a good viewing spot for.

I am confused. I go to DL/DCA every year for the past few years and I don’t recall having a castle firework dining plan involving the Plaza Inn last year. I did the Plaza Inn Parade package. The only package I remember involving castle fireworks was the dessert party a few years back.
We did it in October last year. It was the Halloween Screams dining package and we really enjoyed it. The food was great and it was nice to relax on a busy night with a pretty good view of the fireworks (slightly obstructed by lights and heat lamps) while eating our food. As far as I’m aware, they did not bring it back this year, but I really hope they do in the future. If they do though, I’d imagine the price would go up especially considering the cost of the DB7 package.

A couple Saturdays ago, I wandered out of Smugglers Run about 5 minutes before fireworks and found a spot among the people standing out there for the fireworks. View was perfect and I liked the fireworks over the Falcon and spires better than on Main Street. I would totally do it again if I was in the area at a similar time.

Has anyone done this yet? I'm looking for honest reviews. I'm leaning towards NOT doing it but curious to hear from others who have done it.

We watched fireworks in front of the falcon two nights in a row and walked up with less than ten minutes before the show and found a spot without issue. We really enjoyed the show from there!

We did see quite a few people up on the paid area near docking bay 7 as well.

Quite a few in that it was crowded or that there was plenty of room to walk around? You didn't, by any chance, notice what time they closed the area off for dining, did you?

When I turned around from the viewing area by the Falcon, I was surprised to see so many people up in the dining viewing area. It looked to be at least two rows of people standing to view. I never walked into the docking bay 7 area before the show, so I’m not sure what time they block it off.

We did this show on Fri, 11/29. I personally really like the food at Docking Bay 7, with the Felucian Garden dish being one of my park favorites. People's intuition on this experience are correct. I really can't recommend it, but I won't complain as I like to try things myself at least once. They provide the bento box as shown. Someone added a picture, so look at that for reference. Overall, it's a strange combination of food. The meatballs were ok. They are filled with melted cheese, and I think you're supposed to dip them in what appears to be thousand island (center). One corner contains cheddar and mozzarella cheese cubes covered in some kind of red powder. Just to the side of the cubes is the goat cheese which I found to be the tastiest portion of the meal. You can eat that with the pita chips. Another corner contained pink yogurt. That was pretty, but very bizarre. I didn't see how that complemented anything else in the box. It had some popping pearls that tasted like roses to me, so I did like that. Dessert consisted of the cream puffs. I didn't like the one that was supposedly blue milk. The other one just had a cheap chocolate flavor. I had zero interest in the novelty cup, and I found the drink undrinkable. They did provide water and soft drinks with alcohol at extra cost. I had a few bites of everything but left the majority of the food uneaten.

Going in, I knew from the food descriptions not to count on that being dinner, so we made sure to eat beforehand. The viewing area was nice, but wholly unnecessary. I think the viewing would have been just as nice standing in front of the Falcon. The show started with a droid that I thought would have more of a presence, but it just made a little speech before the fireworks. I really enjoyed the music, and it complemented the fireworks nicely. For the price, I really don't see this being a long-lived experience once word gets out that it's not at all good. They really need to fix the food.

Apparently today Disneyland filed 4 new building permits for projections to be installed on top of Oga's Cantina, Smugglers Run, Village Shops and Souk Market.

Sounds like they are going to do a new projection show in SWGE.
For someone who is not as familiar with the geography of the park, what are they going to be projecting the images on because I am having a hard time figuring out a space/surface to project something onto.
