Fire officials are investigating a fire at Universal Studios. The fire started in the tunnel within the theme park's earthquake ride. Orlando firefighters say one person was overcome by smoke. The ride was shut down, but is expected to be back open today. No word exactly what started the fire.

Isn't there supposed to be a fire? Then the lorry falls through the road above and hurtles into the train you are in??????

The Earthquake ride at Universal Studios reopened on schedule Friday morning belching fire and smoke after a part that caused a small but real fire prompted an evacuation Thursday night.

No one was hurt in the 9:30 p.m. incident and the remainder of the southwest Orlando tourist attraction remained open until the regularly scheduled closing of 10 p.m., spokesman Jim Canfield said.

"A small part of equipment overheated," Canfield said, causing a bit of real smoke. The device, called a sparkler, is part of the special effects for the ride. It was replaced during the night, and there was no structural damage to the ride, which opened in 1990 when the park was first opened, Canfield said.
