Fire 2/6/20 at Disneyland


I wouldn't call that "raging", and the one Twitter feed linked in that article saying "Main Street is on fire!" is a bit hyperbolic.

Glad it was extinguished quickly.
 
I think there are dumpsters in that area. Probably one of them on fire.

We were there tonight when it happened and had no clue it was a fire. We stopped in the Adventureland bathroom before dinner right around 6pm, and the lights flickered off briefly. By the time we finished dinner at Rancho del Zocalo, almost all the other carts, restaurants, and shops were completely dark and closed in Frontierland. We also had no clue Adventureland was closed until we tried to exit that way from our Mint Julep stop. The CMs were amazing despite some extremely rude guests. 🙄 Life lessons for my youngest on why older men yell, “you suck” at CMs doing their job. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Jolly Holiday was also closed when we headed out.

My daughter is a CM and was recently told by a disgruntled dad to go kill herself because she had to stop the line so Minnie could go on her break. What kind of person would say such a thing to a 19-year-old doing her job???
 
People are idiots. Non Disney related story. We had a guy call the business I work at asking to speak to an electrician. All of our electricians were working out in the field at the time. The lady that answers the phones let him know very nicely that we didn't have one here, his response was "You are effing worthless" and hung up. It kind of ticked me off so I called him back and got his voicemail. The voicemail said the name of his business which I wrote down. About 20 minutes later I tried again and he answered, he asked If I was an electrician to which I responded I wasn't and he told me I was effing worthless and hung up. I ended up posting the conversation on several review sites under his business name.

The next morning I get a page to our front office and its the guy apologizing profusely and asking me to take down the reviews. Which I eventually did. 2 months later I get call from the guy asking if there are any others reviews out there because he hasn't been able to get any work for the last couple of months. (He is a 1 man show handyman type)

People think they can get away with anything they want with no repercussions so I thought it was pretty funny when Karma came back and got him.
 
Thank goodness-- it was right next to the Fire Department!

I like to think they actually hitch up the old horse-drawn fire wagon to respond to such issues. Authenticity!

Seriously, I am glad that this doesn't appear to be too serious and nobody was injured.

Some people are just horrible. If he is this way in public, I can't imagine his attitude when nobody else is around.

Oh my goodness, that is brutal! As a total mama bear, I would likely lose my mind hearing stories like that from my girls! 😵

We have all sorts of grace for any grumpy CM we come across after seeing the type of mistreatment they receive while we’re regularly out and about in the parks. I take every complaint I hear about the DLR CMs with a grain of salt, and am not surprised at all about those who become jaded after dealing with the abuse from guests. We certainly aren’t perfect, but we try to teach our kids to be respectful and appreciative during any dealings with a CM. It can usually turn a grumpy face into a smile. ☺️

I'm honestly a little surprised that Disney lets people get away with this kind of behavior as much as they do. A lot of other events on private property have a guest code of conduct that specifically prohibits abusive language and it is enforced.

Years ago I was at a 49er game and there was a delay in gates opening. When the gates finally opened I saw a man started berating the ticket scanner for the delay after he already got his ticket scanned. He was literally standing there holding up the line while cussing at the employee. A cop posted at the gate saw this and approached the guy, who immediately turned and started yelling at the cop as well. He was immediately grabbed, cuffed, and escorted out of the stadium. The 49ers banned him from games for the rest of the season.

Not saying that Disney needs to take it to that level but i feel like they should let people know that that kind of behavior will not be tolerated. If the NFL understands the need to maintain a family friendly environment Disney definitely should. I feel like Disney lets that kind of stuff go because it was directed towards their CMs and not another guest and i think it just sets the wrong tone.
