I seem to remember something about that from Poly Sci, so while I understand it, I do not like the redlining.

Only suspect for a communist sympathizer. Its purpose in 1949 was to secure peace in Europe, to counter the threat posed at the time by the Soviet Union. Not much more to it that I’m aware of….

It’s not. European powers share our values/military strength unlike many Central/South American countries.

The question is why exactly is Europe more important than South American countries or African countries to the United States in that we do not have alliances with the other continents? Certainly, the people in these other places are equally worth protecting and yet...

It’s not redlining but many countries you are referring to do not qualify as solid partners (finances and military strength matters).
