Do they still do the tickets with the matching finger print?

My mom has been diagnosed with terminal cancer :( and has disney passes left. She may have purchased these tickets before they started the finger print.

TIA.

If she never used them with any of the finger-scan machines (the old style or the new one), then they can still be used by anyone. However, the person who uses each one now will be the only person who can use that ticket in future.

If she did use them with any of the finger-scan devices, then they are coded to her biometrics, and cannot normally be used by anyone else.

I am sorry for your situation. Personally, I would call Disney and explain your dilemma. I would think they would allow the transfer of tickets between family members in this instance. If so, you would have to trade them for new tickets, in order to reset a fresh biometric scan.

As the pp stated, if the tickets were issued before biometrics started, then you would have no problems at all.

What year did they start the finger printing? I think the last time they went was in 2003.

I'm pretty sure it was in 2005 because I know it wasn't done in Dec 2004. If the tickets were last used in 2003, there's no biometrics tied to them.

Pre-2005 tickets acquire(d) finger scans upon their next usage after about May 2005.

Tickets last used with two finger turnstile scanners acquire(d) brand new finger scans upon their next usage with a one finger turnstile scanner. Until the last two finger scanner was discontinued, the recorded two finger scan was used to match up with later two finger scans and the recorded one finger scan was used to match up with later one finger scans.

Puh-lease! The fingerprinting is a joke! Put your ticket in, scan your finger, if it doesn't work they make you do it again 1 or 2 more times then they clear it out and you're all set. If you are worried, go to guest services and they will reticket you under the circumstances. So sorry to hear!:guilty:
