What do you serve or what do you like to be served at a party that is finger foods? I am trying to keep it cheap but good... thinking about going to Publix and getting a couple or sandwich rings... thanks for your help

We had a birthday party that we served nothing but finger foods.

We had a veggie tray, a cheese and cracker tray, I bought a big pack of chicken and cut it up, put it on skewers and grilled them, little mini tacos that we found at Sam's Club, we made potato skins, just put cheese and bacon on them, chips and dip.

We bought a couple of big packs of those mini crossiants and made little sandwiches out of them.

I bought pie crust and baked them in cupcake pans, and then filled them with vanilla pudding with fruit on top, came out really good like a little tart.

We had about 25 people at the party and everything was under $100.

Indoors or out? I ask because it's been 100 degrees here, even in the early evening, so you don't want anything that will spoil or melt.

We had a small post-rom party and the big hits were:

1. Pigs in blankets - little smokies wrapped in bits of crescent rolls
2. 1" chunks of chicken breast, wrapped in bacon, rolled in brown sugar and broiled.

A typical "finger food" party at my house could include

deviled eggs
Seven layer dip with chips or just chips and salsa
potato chips with a dip
veggie platter
fruit platter
finger rolls with Tuna salad and/or chicken salad
meatballs in a crock pot
kelbasa in a crock pot
mini quiche (some stores have those in the freezer section)
cheese and crackers (sometimes pepperoni)

Don't forget dessert!

I also make the bacon wrapped chicken. I use Paula Deen's recipe that combines the brown sugar with a couple of teaspoons of chili powder So Yummy!

depending on what crowd/season/location, my list would include some of these:

veggie platter
cheese & cracker platter
cold or hot nacho/taco dip
hot buffalo chicken dip
pigs in a blanket
chips & dip
boneless buffalo wings
potato skins
potato puffs (like you can get frozen at Costco)
mini meatballs
pizza bites/mini-bagels
spinach dip and bread
shrimp or chicken skewers
mozzarella sticks
fruit salad
cookies
brownies
mini cheesecakes/tarts

I often make spinach dip in a pumpernickel bread bowl for parties, and it always goes over so well. It's a cheap, simple thing, and a huge crowd-pleaser :thumbsup2

My absolute fave is a take on crockpot meatballs. The original dish is a bottle of BBQ sauce and a small jar of jelly. Our version is a bottle of hot BBQ sauce, a can of jellied cranberries, and about half a small jar of orange marmalade. Melt that down in a crockpot with some mini meatballs or little smokies and you have awesome party food.

I love Pigs in Blanket with cresent dinner rolls.

I always make pepperoni rolls. Here's my super easy way. Buy the frozen bread dough dinner rolls. Allow them to thaw awhile, but not so they start to rise ... usually just an hour or so. Flatten them out with you hand and add a few slices of pepperoni and some shredded cheese. Pop each roll in a muffin tin and bake until golden brown. They are always a hit.

I don't eat shrimp, but everyone else seems to love the shrimp rings with cocktail sauce.

Homemade cookies .... who doesn't like these?
