What is the best fine dining steakhouse restaurant at Disney and why? We are looking for a recommendation for our trip in May. Thanks!

The best steaks are at Shula's. Tender and incredibly flavorful. The service was quite good too.

Yachtsman Steakhouse was very good as well. Really good service there, and still very good steaks.

California Grill has a great filet mignon, and you'll often find great steaks at some of the other signature restaurants at WDW.

Concourse Steakhouse has passably good steaks. Not where near as good as those mentioned above, but if you've gotta have steak and don't want to spend a bunch, it's a good option.

Le Cellier is a decent choice in a pinch. Some folks have good steaks there, other folks get dry and grizzly steaks, so be forewarned. The service is good, even if the atmosphere is a little cramped.

Any of the above posted places are fine. I prefer Shula's. Quality in the food, prearation and service.

I hear that Shula's is great for a filet, which is what we eat. Does the Yachtsman have a great filet as well? How is the atmosphere at each?

I have to say YSH...I think it depends on the person and who the cook is that day. No motter where you go have a nice time :sunny:

You cannot go wrong with either YSL or Shula's. Both have great steaks and good service.

Concorse is good at the end of a long day but it's not a great steak experience.

We have eaten at Yachtsman Steahouse every trip and would not think of missing it. The food is excellent and the service very good. We have to make outselves stop eating the bread and roasted garlic with butter.

The best filet mignon we ever had on property was at Jiko. Also, my DH had a season-encrusted steak at the Flying Fish (can't remember the cut, but it's still on the menu)........delicious. We are going back for another meal there on our next trip.

We had a great dinner at yachtsman! We were full to the point of being in pain but I plan to do it again our next trip!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the buffalo steak at Artist Point @ WL, it's very good.
I too am a big fan of YSH and California Grille.
Haven't tried Shula's yet but after all the comments I will definitally will try it soon.

Artist Point also had one of the best filet mignons I've ever eaten. Very buttery and fork tender. But, I've never eaten at Yachtsman so I can't compare.

I did'nt think Artist Point had a filet, what you might have had was the Buffalo steak, hope that doesn't change your opinion.
I could be wrong but I don't remember a filet on the menu.

People are quick to name their "hands down" favorites without stating which restaurants they have or have not tried...This is always troublesome.

The only true steakhouses on property are Shula's and Yachtsman's. Both have their cheerleaders and opponenets. My opinion is that Shula's is the better steakhouse but this is based on visits to his other restaurants as my two visits to the Shula's Orlando have been mediocre at best but my most recent visits (and recent reviews) of Yachtsman's are not too favorable either...Therefore I will say that Yacthsman's is definately more 'Disney' in nature and Shula's is definately more 'clubby' in atmosphere.

Both are pricey but Shula's is a bit more.

Both will be good but the smart money is probably on Shula's...Meaning Yachtsman's should take this as a wake up call!

I agree and disagree. :) I've eaten at both, and agree that you really need to have eaten at both to compare the two. ;) I also agree that Shula's is significantly better, and I agree that Shula's is significantly more expensive. :rotfl: What I disagree with is that Yachtsman Steakhouse needs to change. With Shula's right there, there is surely no need for Yachtsman Steakhouse to become a clone of Shula's. It is a good "second-best" steak house, excellent in its own right: surely not as good as Shula's, but significantly more affordable, and that makes it a better choice for some folks -- folks who probably appreciate having something available more in their price range! :thumbsup2

Well i have never been to the Shula's in O-town, but have been to the one in SOFLA and it is some of the best steak around. As for the Yactsman i have ate there numerous times, and think it is the best steak i have had @ disney.
