Finding sold out hotel rooms?

My husband and I currently have a trip booked for December at Pop with the BB free dining deal. We wanted to add a day, but all the BB rooms are sold out, so we were just going to book one night at regular rack rate. When I went on today to book it, they were all sold out!

Do people have luck by just randomly checking throughout the day/week/month and seeing availability pop up? Just curious if it's a lost cause or if I should spend the little extra effort to continue to check.

Room availability changes daily. People are constantly changing their plans. I would keep checking daily.

I would suggest calling. There's always more availability by phone than online.

As the pp said, people change plans all the time so definitely keep checking.

Yep, The system doesn't like orphan rooms which one-night stays create.

I agree, give them a call.
Also, availability does change. We wanted to book WL since it's a bucket list resort for DH. There was some availability, but none at the discounted rate we were hoping. When I saw some availability for August, I called and the CM had a difficult time booking it and had to get intervention, said it had something to do with it literally being the last room at the rate and that he could see it but couldn't reserve it. There must have been a cancelation right around the time I saw it listed.
