Finding shade at a pool

I avoid pools because i am very sensitive to the sun. It makes it really difficult to sit and watch the kids. So we often only visit pools at night. But today for example the kids begged to swim. Dh is with them. All the shade is being enjoyed by towels. I am in the hotel room. Any ideas? I have tried covering up with towels but that gets hot fast. Thanks!

Find a cast member and clear the chairs and towels if no one is actually there.:beach:
Enjoy the shade then.

I agree, watch the chairs and ask a cm to clear it if there is nothing there but a towel and no one has appeared for at least 30 minutes.

And you can do what I do; buy your own shade. Buy a clamp-on umbrella that you can carry in checked baggage and clamp onto any beach chair. It's not foolproof, but it helps.
Another thing you can do is that favorite tactics of redheads; get yourself a generously-cut white sun poncho, the sort that you can use as sort of a tent, so that air blows under it when you drape it loosely over the chair.

If you are having a pool day go early and grab your spot. ThAt is what I do. I have been by the pool at I to snag a table for my family. Dh and I pretty much sit there and the kids come back for drinks, lunch, dinner, dole whips (sniff sniff).

But that is only on the pool days. Park days it is hard to find a chair just to put our stuff on.

BTW, pool days, dh is pretty much still sleeping as are the kids when I go out.

Can you sit with a big hat and towels over your arms/legs? Not ideal but even just for a little while.
