Are the views the same on both sides of the submarine?

Yes.

What matters more is whether you are toward the front or the back. I find that in the back, the visuals lag just a little too much behind the audio, while in the very front, it's just a little too fast. Ideally you want tot be in the middle on either side.

They are not 100% identical, but you see all the same things if that makes sense? Once you get into the dark part of the ride, it's pretty much identical, but in the initial part when you're going through the lagoon, the sides are slightly different, but you see all the same types of things... for example the right side might see an orange fish while the left side sees a green fish. It honestly doesn't make a difference which side you sit on, and you don't get to pick once you get on the sub so it doesn't matter anyway
