What is the deal with this? They should clarify before you enter the theater that they are going to re-create the entire movie in a musical with cast members dancing around and singing with stuffed animals on sticks and that it lasts forever.

I really couldn't believe it when they started doing the movie. We left after less than 10 minutes. Do people really like this? The only good thing we saw was that at least the theater was air conditioned.

And what is The Lion King on Broadway?

And what is Mary Poppins On Broadway?

And what is Beauty and the Beast: LIVE On Stage at MGM?

They were recommending being in line for this 45 minutes ahead of showtime and we weren't willing to spend that much time in line, so we didn't get to see it last week. We walked by that area a little after lunch and WOW....the line just went on and on in the hot sun! No way were we waiting in that line. I have heard others rave about it, so I felt like we were missing something special, but I guess maybe we didn't.

Based on THAT review?

:lmao:

Well....at least it makes me feel better to believe that we didn't really miss anything special ;) :thumbsup2.

Let me give you an excuse for another WDW trip.

We LOVE the Nemo show!

(Any reason is a good one to revisit Disney!)

:thumbsup2

This thread is baffling me. What would the Finding Nemo show be about other than Finding Nemo just like in the movie? I'm still scratching my head.

If you left before 10 minutes you missed the best puppets--they really were pretty amazing.

If you want the primo front row up close and personal seats you need to get there 45 minutes early. My mom and I were there a week ago and we walked up 10 minutes before the show and got very decent seats. I guess a lot of the timing has a lot to do with what time of the year you are there - even in September the theatre was pretty packed by the time the show started - but that rule goes for pretty much anything at WDW.

The musical is spectacular and SO innovative with the use of the puppets! The musical does retell the story that is laid out in the movie, yes, but they created a whole bunch of great songs to go along with it, and the actors who portray the characters, ESPECIALLY Dory, are Broadway-level performers. And I think it helps that they used the same story from the movie - that way the kids are familiar with what is going on and don't lose interest. From what I have seen, the kids that I sat near seem absolutely captivated - never heard any whining or crying. I'm sorry that the OP gave up on it so soon - it's one of my must-do's every trip to AK now.

Gee, I thought this was great! Reminded me a little of the old Hunchback show at MGM. I really miss that one. :confused3

Now that I think about it,
how did you KNOW all this ("entire movie," "lasts forever") based on "less than 10 minutes" in the theater?

We saw it on our trip at the end of August and personally thought it was okay. I think part of our problem was that we saw it at the 4:45 time and after being in the park all day with the heat and humidity we were tired. My DH and I actually dozed off for a minute or so. Next time we go, we will do the show first thing.

That's what I thought too. Last month we lucked into some great seats just abou 10 minutes before the show started. There was no line because they had already opened the theater. The reason the line gets so long is because people line up long before the doors open. When we got there, they were filling the seats starting in the back. We were in the 2nd row sort of over towards the right side of the stage - excellent seats! I wasn't crazy about this show the first time I saw it but I did like it ok, but the 2nd time I "got it" and it was amazing. It made my mom cry, and even my bouncy DD3 stayed still the whole time.

To the OP - why on earth would you spend thousands of dollars on a vacation without knowing what is there? With all the FREE information Disney makes available, there is no excuse to walk into an attraction not knowing what's inside. Did the title not give it away? "Finding Nemo, The Musical." Were you expecting a Mickey Mouse ride, perhaps? A rollercoaster? Based on the title alone, even if I hadn't looked at the WDW website or watched the FREE planning DVD or even oh I dunno... read the friggin' map, I'd have deduced that it would be a musical recreation of the story of Finding Nemo. How much brain power does that really take?

Ok, I didn't realize I was dealing with a Web Detective.

I didn't think you needed the entire background of the story, but I guess you must.

We were with a group of 11. 6 adults and 5 girls ages 7,6,4,2,6 months. My 7 year old daughter was just as bored as I was. My 6 month old daughter was ready to be fed. My wife and I were going to take the 6 month old to the baby center. My 7 year old decided to stay in the show because her cousins and grandparents were staying in the show. So, 3 of us left and walked across the park to the baby center and fed a baby. We changed the baby. We walked the long way around the big circle around the Tree. We bought bottled waters and drank them. We walked back towards the Finding Nemo and about 5 minutes later, the other 8 people in our group came walking out. That is why I said it lasted forever.

Congrats on getting to post the Troll picture, I bet you were all excited to do that.

I've never been on any of those. Thanks for letting me know what to avoid!

I adore this show. It is fun, colorful, and the puppetry is fantastic!

It is not a thrill ride or a scare the crap out of you thing.

It is a musical show, hence the name Finding Nemo --The Musical!

:cool1: :goodvibes  :yay: :woohoo:

We really enjoyed the show ~ very well done, I love the people/puppet presentation !
I would wait in line again to see the show. To serious Disers it is worth seeing, at least once :thumbsup2

WDW is re-creating movies in their attractions :confused3 :confused3 ??...........hmmm, what a concept..........I smell a T as well.......:rolleyes1
