Finding Nemo Line.

Hello,
Well first off im new to these boards

Anyways my first question is regarding the line for nemo.

Everytime I go to disneyland Nemo has a line of at least 60 minutes. The ride has been open for 9 months already. Do you believe it will ever slow down?

Also,
Everytime I head to the nemo ride they say there line is 90 minutes when the actual wait time is 60 minutes. Has anybody noticed this?

My last question is,
I have seen the hidden sea serpent on the ride. However where is the hidden mermaid?

I cant answer all your questions but I am hoping that Nemo will settle a tiny wee bit once the new Toy Story ride opens. I hope the crowds will head down there instead. But its still such a newer ride that people will want to see it as often as possible when they can.

As for the times, you will find the times posted a longer wait time then usual when it usually isnt. Its just an estimate time.

Yep. The CMs have told me that they always overestimate the time, at least for Nemo.

I find the actual line experience to be rather pleasant, actually. The line is wide (vs Peter Pan's line), the 'switchbacks' of it are generous, and you're out in the open for prime people-watching. You know that since you've obviously been on it, but I wanted to say it anyway.

Remember the subs at their hearts are an old ride that was designed decades ago when less thought was given to ride efficiences. The subs take time to load and unload and the ride time is actually rather long for a ride.

Coupled with the fact that there is still a buzz around their return in the Nemo form and the lines are unpleasant.

It has been said a million times but those times we feel compelled to ride the subs we just ride it at the end of the night and we never wait more than 15 minutes.

Im excited about the toy story ride as well. However my pass for disneyland expires Dec 25 . After my pass expires it usually 1 -2 years until I get another pass. So do you know the opening date for toy story? Hope my passes don't expire

We were there last week, and we did the recommended method to get on Nemo first thing. IT. WAS. INSANE.

We took our second Magic Morning to do it. Park opening was 8 a.m. (spring break, huge crowds) so MM started at 7 a.m. SOOO... we got to the security station at 6:10. The security people weren't there yet. There were two other people there. Within 8 minutes there were about 30 people behind us. Security started strolling up at 6:20. At 6:30 they opened, and we ran for the gates. We were first in line at our turnstile. They did the countdown and opened the turnstiles at 6:50. Everybody ran, and I mean DASHED (despite CMs calling out, "Please don't run!") to the end of Main Street, which was roped off for the rope drop. I had never heard of this before, rope drop at early entry, but there it was. Just before 7 a.m., the security people quietly moved along the lines, winding up the rope and saying calmly, "Don't go yet, ok, we're just getting the rope out of the way, we'll tell you when to go." At 7 a.m. precisely the head guy smiled and made a little "go" motion, and those of us at the rope took off. My husband, who is a runner, dashed on over around the back side of the Matterhorn; there were CMS all along the route pointing the way and seeming to shrug at the runners. He and my fast-moving daughter jumped into the line and started winding through all the roped maze. The other 3 of us caught up and ducked under to join them maybe 15 seconds later. We got onto the first sub. The line was up to an hour within a few minutes.

Now, it's a cute ride, and I'm glad we saw it, but in retrospect it is a whole lot of hooha for ... just that, a cute ride. What a manic run. I felt like the running of the bulls in Pamplona. It was crazy to do all that for a ride. Of course, my opinion is colored by the fact that one of my daughters wasn't feeling well and making her do this made her worse, I realized later. She should have been back at the hotel, sleeping in and resting.

Toy Story is opening this summer, sometime in June is the estimate. So I think you'll get on it before your passes expire.

Hopping in the Nemo line at park closing is what has worked best for me. Waited only 20 minutes one time and 10 minutes another time (used the alternate viewing room the second time).

I was there a couple of weeks ago. We checked the line before the first Fantasmic show was starting and we were quoted a 20 minute wait. I think we waited a bit longer but it was much shorter than the wait the rest of the time we were there.

I think it's crazy the lengths people will have to go to in order to ride Nemo. We were lucky one night and were able to get on it with a 20 minute wait. I can't remember how...might have been during the fireworks.

Anyway, I might be the only one to say I wasn't that impressed with the ride.
I remember the old submarine ride and this just wasn't that different. To me anyway. Plus I did not like the submarine. I felt ill being on that ride for some reason.

So, my family of 6 will be one less group you'll have to deal with waiting in line. LOL

Ooh momma...I see your current location is "Dreaming of someday taking an Alaskan cruise"...we did that for our honeymoon! Loved it! Couldn't drink as many boozy mango tangoes as I wanted since 3 days into it I realized I was pregnant (ridiculously EARLY signs and symptoms), but it was still a fun trip.

Hey - not to be off topic - but you were there with us! We actually got to open the park that day. Luckily we had done the race to Nemo on the tuesday early hour. So instead we did space mountain. I agree - it's a bit crazy. But the only way I was going to get on Nemo was first thing - I wasn't willling to wait more than 15 minutes.

We were there in January and there always seemed to be some sort of a line. They said the wait time was about 35 minutes when we rode it, and they were spot on. Got in line and 35 minutes later we were boarding the ride.

We didn't go on nemo last time we went i didn't want to wait in line for hours... there was about an hour wait on day we were there and i just didn't want to wait... i know i'm impaticent .... I think they make put the time higher because people think wow they said 90 and it was only 60.... where as people would be they said 60 and it was 65-70..... once they slow down we will go.... but i was wondering about this "alternative veiwing room" everyone talks about what is it?

The room is for those guests who are either in a wheelchair or cannot physically handle the subs. If you ask a CM at the exit of the que, they will let you in a separate line where you can wait to view the same show that is played in the subs in a small room. The screen is larger and is played somewhat like a movie. The line is never long for viewing it this way, but you do loose a little bit of the feel and atmosphere by not going down into the sub itself.

The line for the viewing room is significantly smaller and the wait is practically non-existent. You don't get the same feel, but you will be able to watch the movie that's shown in the subs.

My kids remember the process of getting to Nemo more than they do the actual ride. They still laugh that people were running past us while pushing strollers. One had a kid riding in the stroller who looked just terrified, the stroller ride was definitely a scary e-ticket ride for the little kid.

Going first thing in the morning was a great way to do it, we went on an early entry morning (7:00 am opening), and were walking off the sub at 7:35 am. It was a decent ride, to us on the level of Jungle Cruise or Star Tours, but definitely not a must-see for us.

Carrianne, that was YOU!! I saw you guys, congrats on opening the park! You know what is ironic... they actually asked US to open the park before you! We were sitting on the ground with our back up against the gates, and the guy squatted down and asked how many in our family. I said 5, and he said, 'How would you folks like to help us open the park this morning?" I looked at my husband, gulped and said, "Wow, that sounds great, thank you so much, but this is our only chance to run for Nemo, so I guess not." Now I kinda wish we had... but we did see Nemo, which I was so curious what all the hoopla was about. I used to live in Wisconsin, so when I saw the family up there from WI, I thought, "Cool!"
