finding coupons

For those who use coupons, where do you get most of your coupons? Do you print them off the internet or get them from sales ads ot newspapers? I want to start couponing, but I don't know where to find the best coupons.

Well, here in the Greater Boston area NOT ONE of the grocery stores, Targets, Walmarts or CVS that I have shopped at take any printable coupons from the internet, even from their own company's sites. The coupon inserts in the Sunday Boston Globe or Herald often did not cover the cost of the newspaper so I stopped buying the paper. I now order my coupons from coupon clipping groups. Technically, you can't sell coupons so these companies charge a small handling fee of about 7 cents a coupon. Some of the coupons are pretty decent, like 75 cents off, which my stores will double. You can order exactly what you need.

I do a little of both. I'm just starting to coupon again so I only have a few weeks of newspaper inserts. I'm relying heavily on printables and blinkies (the ones you find at the store) right now. Also, my local Starbucks used to let me come Sunday night or Monday morning and glean the inserts from the thrown out papers. That was nice. . .I always had about 5 copies for each insert. Good luck! It's a lot of fun.

I'm lucky, all the stores around me take printables. I get the bulk of mine from:

redplum.com
smartsource.com
coupons.com
individual product websites (pillsbury.com for example)
retailer websites (target.com, meijer.com)

And of course the sunday paper.

Our weekly free paper has the Smartsource insert stuffed into the middle of it. I pick up a paper for the extra insert. And my aunt who works at the town hall takes the inserts out of ALL of the remaining papers at 5pm the night before the new paper comes out each week. She cuts what they can use and forwards me the rest. We also both scour the recycle bins on Monday morning at work (just the newspaper recycle bins, the clean ones! LOL) and that often nets alot.

I'm also not shy about asking co-workers to bring their inserts...people who aren't coupon clippers. One of my guys just brought me 6 inserts!
