I have been tracking costs since joining 12/99. I used the published rack rates for each year. Here are the figures.
As of 12/03 my total out of pocket expenses are $16,485.48. This figure includes a cash purchase of 60 points in 02 for $3900, the payments I've been paying each month for my initial 220 points, and all maintenance fees.
The total cost for all of our reservations, tax incl. since joining would have been $23,509.77.
$23,509.77 - $16,485.84 = a savings of $7,023.93 or Appox 30%
The savings will improve considerably once my balance is paid off.
Depending on dues increases, I expect to recognize a savings of between 50% to 80%.
One thing to consider is that we never use points for Fri or Sat.
