Finally watched the Twilight movie and.............

It was good, followed the book well, the characters were just as I imagined them........but................
Carlisle Cullen just looked creepy to me. and scary.

from the book I envisioned him differently.
I think they made the actor look very vampirish.........instead of young handsome and boyish like he is described in the book

I think it's the hair. Peter Facinelli, the actor who plays Carlyle, is a natural brunette. They dyed his hair a really weird shade of blonde, and IMO, he can't pull it off with his skin tone. Makes him look really washed out (I'm sure they made him up to look pale, too, which made it worse).

I thought some of the casting was good, but a few characters just don't fit their descriptions in the books.

Wow, googled him and he DOES look a whole lot better with dark hair! That was one of the things I noticed when I watched Twilight, that Dr. Cullen wasn't as attractive as the books made them sound. Then again, neither is Edward

ok, I just googled Peter Facinelli photos and him in his natural state is what I envisoned Dr. Cullen to look like
yep the dye job was just bad LOL

the whole family looked like vamps to me, especially Jasper ( the one with Alice?) I get them confused.
and yep Edward just doesn't do it for me either LOL

I thought the hair and makeup was pretty bad in Twilight. You can see the makeup lines on Esme in one scene. They missed half her forehead. And Edward's ears are red. It seems to get better in most cases in each movie.

While I love Twilight I always laugh so hard whenever they show Carlise. The makeup is just soooooo bad. That was not how I had pictured him from the books either.

When I picture Carlyle, I think of a Princess Bride- era Cary Elwes. Peter Facinelli is cute, but he is much older (37 IRL) than the Carlyle of the Twilight books, who I think was supposed to be in his late 20's.

That actor is married to the actress who played Kelly Taylor on 90210. I've seen pictures of them in magazines with their kids. I guess that made him not creepy/scary to me.

I thought a lot of the makeup in Twilight was bad. It seemed to get a lot better as the series goes on though.
