Finally, time to make FP!

We get to make FP tonight at midnight (I'm assuming EST?). This is not our first time doing FP+, but it is the first time we've taken advantage of the 60-day window. So, what's my plan of attack? Am I making all 10 days tonight (similar to the 180+10 for dining) or do I need to do it night by night? Should I just snag mine and then try to add everyone else on or at least try for all 8 of us first? Our tier 1 needs are SDMT for each of our 4 MK days, TSMM for our 3 HS days and I guess TT for now for our 2 EP days (although that will change to Frozen if it opens and they release FP before or during our trip) and I'm saving AK for whenever ROL FP gets released since my kids will only ride PW and Dinosaur. So excited :hyper:

Yes, got the answer for booking time (EST) and booking window! Your links are so helpful, thanks! They did bring up an additional question.

Specifically regarding this "
  • If a guest has more resort days booked than ticket days in the MDX account, the FPs can be scheduled on any days during the stay.
OK, so our situation is a little unique. We have 1-night (5/20) of 2 rooms at ASMu booked with 10-day tickets for all 8 of us. We also have 7-nights at SSR (5/21-5/28) with only my name on it currently in MDE. We DO have another SSR for the same dates and two more SSR for 5/28-6/4, but have not yet gotten the emails for those to link them to MDX (they were made via RCI and the first email to link took about 10 days to arrive). They should be coming soon, they just aren't linked yet. So what does this mean for FP? Does this mean I can only make my own FP and only for 5/20-5/28? I don;t even think I can call DVC added to get 3 more of us added to the one SSR room since its Sunday. So, I'm not really sure how this is going to work after reading that from you FAQ.

Two consecutive onsite stays keep the booking window open. Your first stay opens up the ticket entitlements for everyone. *Are the tickets linked separately or booked as a package??

Technically, you should be able to book for everyone from 5/20 through 5/28. But, because most of your party isn't listed on the reservation and if you booked the tickets as a package, the system may close their open window at 5/21 and then they'd have to book on a rolling 60-day basis.

You can't book beyond 5/28 because your last reservation isn't yet linked to MDE. Those last park days can be booked when that last reservation is linked or when you are exactly 60 days out from 5/29 (one day at a time with a rolling 60-day window).

*Are the tickets linked separately or booked as a package??

They are booked as a package with the 1-night stays on 5/20. OK, so let me make sure I'm understanding this correctly:
  1. Everyone can book tonight for 5/20 only (we actually are not planning a park on this day)
  2. I might be able to book everyone from 5/20-5/28 or the booking window might close for everyone but me (in which case I'd book my FP and try to add them later? Or would it be better to wait and try to book everyone at once?)
  3. If it closes to them, I can still book them with the rolling 60-day window? If so, for how long? If I don't have the confirmation to link the second reservations to MDX by then, would we still be able to do the rolling 60 day window on 5/29?
Thanks!!

#2 - you really need a spreadsheet! I have rethought this and this is what the MDE system will allow:

Book for everyone for 5/20-5/21.

Even though they aren't listed on Stay #2, all guests have ticket entitlements. So, as long as you group all 8 people together (you must be part of the group) for FPs for 5/22 through 5/28, you can book for them and then Modify if needed if they need different rides.

The system will view them as offsite guests beginning 5/22 so you have to group them with you when booking the FPs through 5/28.

#3. Complete FP booking when Stay #3 is linked or use the rolling 60 - whichever comes first.
