It's been 14 months since we lost our dear Woody. He was a Golden and died at 9 years of age. Were finally ready for another  My two DD's and I are going tomorrow to pick the puppy we want. They will be ready to take home on May 19th.

Now I need your help! I'd love to hear some creative names for a girl. If we choose a male I think the name will be Copper. However, I'm stumped on a girl name.

So give it your best shot and let me know what you think. Many thanks!

I am so excited I could burst! :sunny:

Well, I don't know how creative it is but our little golden retriever girl is named Sunny. DD picked it out and she did a great job. It fits her personality and her coloring.

Enjoy your new puppy!

Oh, I like :sunny: Sunny :sunny:

I also liked Autumn for a female but my DH almost died when I told him that name

Guess I'll keep thinking about it.

1st I'm really sorry about Woody
2nd HOW could you go 14 months ( we can't last a few months on our 3rd Golden and will never own another breed)
3rd as for a name how about Jesse to go with the Woody theam.

We don't have a Golden Retriever... we have a Golden ********! :lmao: I can only say that becuase she ever ceases to amaze me how smart she is. She learned to pop a treat last night in two takes. Unbelievable!

I am so sorry to hear about Woody. We sat looking at our babies (furbabies) while watching TV the other night and started tearing up thinking about the time when they aren't with us. I think it's so so hard to know at some point, you have to figure out a way to keep going.

We had a tough time picking a name for our puppy when we got her. We finally settled on Casey becuase it fit her to a T. Yes, it's Disney... Casey's Corner becuase she's a HOT dog :teeth: but no one ever figures it out. Our final list was: Penny (the Rescuers), Wendy (Peter Pan), and Lilly (as in Tiger Lily from Peter Pan). At this point, we should have named her Nana (Peter Pan) becuase I can see her with the tray of tonic on her head when we have people babies!

Some of the others we had thought about: Belle, Bailey, Cleo, Amber, Lilo, and Leila

The reason why we went 14 months before being ready to get a new dog is that was how long it took for my poor DH to get over losing Woody :guilty:

Jesse...that is clever thinking!!

Oh I hear you we replace animals around here all the time but boy did the other 2 dogs hit us all hard. The cats ,Anoles, hermit crabs, fish ,frogs no real big deal just get another ,but the dogs.We are lucky to have an Uncle that lives on a farm and we have a big PET cemetary up there.

Another good name idea would be from the new Fairies line ,Tink,Bess,Beck,Prilla, Fira,Lily,Rani or Vidia .I think there are a few others as well. You could try to match up their personalities with the ones on the Web-sight.
