...with 5,maybe 6 of us... (3-4 adults 2 kiddos) I couldn't decide on the AS suites or a cabin and after ALOT of going back and forth on this I thought a cabin would be best. Mainly because it is free standing with no connected neighbors. The deck looks great!!! And there is that beautiful kitchen. My only concerns will be when we are all there I notice only one couch and not a whole lot of sitting rrom. So the kiddos will have to hang out in the back bedroom which is no different than if we were staying in an ordinary hotel room. Help convince me that I made the right decision :thumbsup2

Theres nutt'n like the Fort, ya'll will love it. It is absolutely the most family oriented resort Disney has. You made the right choice.

and you can go fishing.:thumbsup2

You will spend very little time in your cabin. If you are not in a park, you will be spending time at the beach, playground, riding bikes, fishing, watching the outdoor movie and enjoying the campfire, riding horses, taking a hayride, relaxing at the swimming pool(hopefully all done and purdy!:wizard: ) and enjoying all the other things Fort has to offer that you can't find at the hotels.

You will wonder why you ever stayed in those tiny rooms with no front porches, or grills or outdoor running around space for the kids. You will be amazed at the scenery, deer, armadillos, otters:rolleyes1 , and other animals you will see. If you rent a golf cart I am sure you will be addicted. Actually, if you stay at FW either in a cabin or on a campsite, you will feel like you are at home!:lovestruc

Please don't share this experience with other hotel people you know, it is so hard to get a ressie at the Fort anymore! I don't really like the Fort, can you tell? :thumbsup2

Oh, and Rog will be along shortly to tell you why you should rent a camper instead of staying in the cabin, but don't listen to him! ;)

There is one couch, but a couple of chairs, a large ottoman and the kitchen table is right there with seating as well, plenty of room to sit and talk about the great time you are having. More than likely, if the weather is nice, the deck will become very popular too with seating at the picnic table. MUCH nicer than a motel/hotel room.

After the first night you will know you made the right choice. :thumbsup2

Yes...yes I will be along shortly!!! And Flame is 100% correct...the cabins are FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC......if you can afford them. But www.CampAtTheFort.com actually has better sleeping accommodations and saves a considerable amount of money to spend on other things that make the Fort such a great place to vacation at....like GOLF CARTS!!!!! Just letting you know about other options that are out there and make a vacation more affordable for the average family...we all need to pinch every penny these days!

The one and only time I have been to the Fort was when we went in 2000!!! Back then we had an old pop-up and a little tent. I remember how CLEAN it was as relaxing after a day at the parks. I am trying to talk DH into looking into another pop-up(bigger this time) or light weight trailer. But until then maybe this trip to the cabin will be the first of many. :thumbsup2

I've never stayed in the cabins myself, but I did research them quite exhaustively {quite a bit on these very boards I might add} and they look very nice.

However, I doubt you'll spend too much time in them as you'll probably be out in the parks having fun or enjoying the many activities at the Fort.

Enjoy.

There is enough room for everyone to hang out. We would pull down the murphy bed and pile on that too to watch movies. We also hung out on the deck. We actually spent a lot of time in the cabin. We aren't the type that hit every ride and event. We enjoy lazy dinners on the deck and then hopping on the golf cart to the beach to watch the fireworks. (or outside movie with chip and dale, or the electric parade or looping.)

You will really enjoy the "quiet"!!! I have stayed at all stars, and they are fun. But I don't miss hearing every toilet flush or kids yelling/crying. And your kids wont bother everyone crying (or wrestling or playing loud etc etc). My son gets up early so I knew that we wouldn't bother anyone getting up and starting our day early. Coffee and Popsicle on the deck are great too.

You will have fun!!!!!
