Well, I'm a happy camper now. After trying to book my package through a local AAA office, I ended up booking through a California AAA agent who was super sweet and professional. She was more than glad to help me out and the delay has been because of Disney's screwed up computers.

I finally received my quote that reflected the 20% value season discount off the room rate. I don't have the actual breakdown, but here's what we ended up booking:

Port Orleans Riverside - 2 adults
November 27 - December 4, 2005 (value season)
King bed, 7 day MYW tickets w/hopper option and MYW Plus Dining Plan
no insurance
$1,897.60
TOTAL SAVINGS: $231.64 (online Disney World package was $2,129.24)

I also get the 25 Disney Dollars, so that's a plus. I only have to put down the $200 deposit, then the rest will be due 45 days prior to arrival.

My agent will be faxing me in the morning with the confirmation info.

Now I can really start getting excited! :cheer2:

:flower1: That's great, I hope you have a great vacation...We're going to be at the POFQ around the same time as you... :flower:

I tried to get a room at POFQ, but no AAA discount. Oh well - we had a great time at POR, so I'm definitely looking forward to this trip.

Hope you have fun too!

You can't add on the dining package with AAA, is that correct??? tryign to figure out which is a better deal for us. We too are going that same week at FQ.

Hi Scootch,
Yes, you can add the dining option to the MYW package with AAA. I just booked mine yesterday for POFQ! :cool1: I know some are saying the dining option isn't a good deal, but for my family it definitely is!

Yes - thankfully you can get the AAA discount off the room AND add on the dining plan if you call a AAA travel agency and book a package (room and tickets). If a AAA rate is available for a resort (POFQ didn't have any AAA rates available for the king beds - not sure about the other room types), you can get the discount off your room rate.

If you book anywhere else (including direct with Disney reservations), you can get the AAA discount off the hotel rack rate and add tickets, but you can't add on the dining plan. Maybe this will change later, but I tried several other agencies and Disney themself to find out it was not possible unless I booked a package through AAA.

Be persistent and make sure that the AAA travel agent confirms that they are actually quoting a AAA discount off the room rate. I had so many misquotes where Disney's computer system wasn't showing the AAA discount, or they kept pulling up the wrong tickets, etc. Then the computer system kept locking up. What I did was calculate the cost of the room plus tickets and dining plan to get a general idea of what the cost would be. I subtracted the 20% (for value season at a moderate) from the room rate and was able to have an idea of when they were quoting too high (usually they quoted a similar rate to booking the hotel, tickets and dining online at disneyworld.com). So if you calculate everything and have it in front of you, you'll be able to ask them to make sure the room discount is subtracted.

Hope this helps. I've had a frustrating few days trying to get this booked. But it's way worth the $200+ I saved by booking directly through AAA.

You can't add the dining to a AAA room only reservation...but if you book a package with AAA you can get the dining. We did and they saved us $515.20.

Thank you so much. The disney agent told me no AAA with dining... so I just called AAA. They are going to check it out and call me back. Maybe I can upgrade to the Contemporary.... hmmmm.

Let the eating begin with you plus dining package! Kudoos plus - on the $200 savings through AAA.

Scootch,
Try disney again. Some of the agents are misinformed. I had to call twice and the second person I got said you can book through AAA with the dining pkg. So I called my AAA agent and she said yes you sure can. She quoted me a pkg. Poly Lagoon view concierge
5 people
MYW Hopper plus with dining and insurance for 4595.08
If I dont want the water parks added its 4401.40
They saved me almost 500.00. SO it was well worth it. Your AAA agent should know all about the new disney pkgs.

Ok, got thru.... since all this is new, they are a bit confused. I am staying 4 nights.. so thought it would $104ish cheaper(20% discount).. but it came out $74 cheaper....but still cheaper. WDW said if I sign a form, they will just send over the contract to AAA. So going for it. Not sure if I should try another AAA office or not. The girl said this was the price they quoted her from WDW.... so may not be any different. Thanks a bunch though... 74 will buy some souveniers.

I am to stop in monday and fill out a paper as WDW said if I did that, they would just transfer the info to AAA. I am going to tell her it should be 20 % off room rate of 134... 4 nights should be $107.20 difference from the rate WDW quoted me. Push and shove till I get every penny.. hehe... Although this free shuttle is saving me 100 bucks too!! Lovin that!

We are trying to find the AAA package rate for 8 nights, regular season, Oct 15-23. with 2 adult MyWay base tickets (will decide on adding hopping priviledges after we get there) and the dining option. I read on the AAA website that in order to get the $25 Disney Dollars and the AAAparking pass that you need to book thru AAA by Jan 31. WDW and DU both quoted us the exact same price of $2,306. Do you know the percentage off the room rates during the regular season with AAA?

Hi,
I just called AAA last week for a quote for our trip, this is what she said...We asked for six nights at POR, and hopper pass for 1507.00 but if i wanted to add the dining to the package it would be around 2087.00..This is for a family of four...The total price that you gave does that include the dining to????I'm just wondering why i was quoted so much more...We are going from Dec. 4 to Dec.9 she told us was also value season...Just wondering before i decide to book my vacation...Thanks Tracy

Subject to availability - regular season discounts are 10% off Deluxe and Home Away from Home resorts, or 15% off Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

Now this is just a guessimate: I'm assuming 7 day tickets which is reflected in the following calculation:

$149 room rate per night
$1192 subtotal before discount
-$178.80 AAA 15% discount
$1013.20 subtotal room before tax
$116.52 11.5% room tax
$560 MYW dining plan - 2 adults
$398 8 day MYW passes - 2 adults
$2087.72 total
$218.28 - savings with AAA package (plus the 25 Disney Dollars in January!)

I might be off a few dollars/cents, but at least this gives you an idea what you can expect.

Hope this helps!

Okay, I think I calculated out the discount and my estimate is about $25 off your $2087 quote. I wonder if they're charging you a booking fee... my AAA agent did not, but I have heard others have been charged.

I was calculating based on me guessing your children are under 10. It looks like your agent did give you the 20% room discount, and I calculated 6 day hopper passes and the dining plan for 2 adults, 2 children.

Hope this answers your question.

I think it is 10% discount, but not absolutely sure about that.

During regular season, the AAA room discount is 15% for values and moderates, and 10% for Deluxe and Home away from home resorts.
