Cast: Me - 4th time to WDW in just over a year (gotta love those APs), master planner
Phil - Been to DL once over 20 years ago, 1st time to WDW
(Both early 40s)
This was by and away our busiest day of the trip. Since we wanted to make EMH at MGM, we had a quick breakfast of cereal bars while waiting for the bus. Made it through Security by 8:30a, and headed straight to ToT (this turned out to be Phils favorite ride). We rode it 3 times, never getting the same sequence even though we rode the same elevator twice in a row. Even saw a ghost image between one of the drops!! After that, we set off to Muppets 3-D. Phil and I love Beaker and he didnt disappoint. Onto Indy Jones before our 11a PS at 50s Prime-time. This restaurant is great!!! Mom came over after we were seated and told Phil to set the table. Cousin Bob (our server) then scolded us out for missing Thanksgiving dinner. We split a great meal of onion rings, pot roast with mashed potatoes and I got a vanilla shake, while Phil had a diet soda. It was just the right amount of food!!!
Time for a break so it was back to the room for an hour or so, then off to EPCOT. First stop was Ice Station Cool. Phil sampled them all, but the expression on his face after Beverly was priceless!! Next up was a quick tour from Italy to Canada, stopping to see the Statue in Italy (shes amazing), the WTC Flag at the Am. Adventure, then my favorite band Off Kilter in Canada. These guys amaze me every time I see them and I ended up buying BOTH CDs. By now it was time for our CP seating at the Garden Grill so off we went. This was another first for me and definitely wont be the last. That bread is sooo good come to think of it, so was the rest of the meal!! Saw all the characters in their farmers outfits with many pictures.
After dinner, caught the boat across the lagoon to get in line for CP. Im glad we had reserved seating because the lines for both reserved and general admission were HUGE!!! Where did all these people come from? While waiting, caught part of the ToD parade which was good as usual. Got seated near front and center and loved it!!! James Avery is absolutely amazing, not to mention the orchestra and choir. I think it was our favorite part of the week!! Had us walking away with goosebumps and very much in the Christmas spirit. Next up was finding a good spot for Illuminations. Didnt search too long, finally finding a spot near the glass blowers in Germany(?). Phil was awed by it and made for a great ending to a long but fun day!!! Back to the room to get packed up for moving day tomorrow!!
