Phil - Been to DL once over 20 years ago, 1st time to WDW
(Both early 40s)

Side note: I PROMISE this won’t be as long as the trip down!!!

After a nice smooth drive over, we arrived at ASMu around 11am. The excitement that we were actually here was becoming a reality. I’ve stayed here a few times and really enjoy it!! Parked the car and headed to check-in. Very nice CM who took care of most of my requests, but could only get us as close as Broadway. That’s OK as I really like the themeing of these buildings and it’s not too bad a walk. Our room wasn’t ready, though, so we cleaned out the Tracker and stowed our luggage in storage for the afternoon. Had some time on our hands so we checked out AKL while we had a vehicle. All I can say is WOW!!! Maybe someday!!!

Off to the Dolphin (National) to return the rental and once squared away, caught the boat over to Beaches & Cream for lunch. We killed time waiting by seeing the Christmas decorations in the lobby and getting a few pictures. Twenty minutes later, we were seated at the counter. Delores was our waitress and our order was placed immediately. I had bought assorted Connections vouchers and used one here. Glad I did because there was plenty of food. We split a double cheeseburger, onion rings and a Milky Way sundae (awesome!!) and 2 sodas. Saw a Kitchen Sink go to a table of about 12 people who devoured the WHOLE THING!!!

Once we waddled out of there, we headed to the bus stop for a trip to MK. This was a non-park day, but I thought a tour on the monorail would be a great way to start off Phil’s trip. We even got to sit up front and Phil got his co-pilot’s license. We went from MK through the Contemporary to TTC and back. Once back at MK, we caught the bus back to ASMu to see if our room was ready and it was, including our luggage in it!!!! Things are finally rolling the right way!! Got cleaned up, picked up our Santa hats and headed back to MK for MVMCP!

We arrived around 5p and got our wristbands. Walking under the train station, we were in awe of all the decorations – it was beautiful!! Off we went to Adventureland, rode JC and then headed to BTMRR. At that point it was almost 6, so we headed back toward Tomorrowland. Walking through Fantasyland, the fireworks started so we stopped to watch. What a great place to see them!! In Tomorrowland we did TTA, Buzz and Astro-Orbiter. Then headed back to Fantasyland just before 7. Found the photo spot, got our pictures taken quickly, then rode Pooh and IASW, before heading to HM. We started getting hungry so it was off to Casey’s, then back to Space Mtn. As we came off, the fireworks were starting and they were incredible. Especially like the 360 degree effect!!! Now it was time to hit a show so we decided on the Wild West show at the Diamondhorse Saloon. Alot of fun and laughs. Walked out the door to immediately found seats for the 2nd parade. It was fantastic!! Met a couple of DISers (I’m bad with names) and talked for a few minutes. After that, we were beat!!! Our travel was catching up so back to ASMu and off to bed!!!

Next: Finally Here!! - Day Two

Its so much fun meeting other Disers. Sounds like you had a fun day.

I was at that same MVMCP but I don't think I met you. I really enjoyed it, sounds like you did too.
