Cast: Me - 4th time to WDW in just over a year (gotta love those APs), master planner
Phil - Been to DL once over 20 years ago, 1st time to WDW
(Both early 40s)
We got to sleep in this morning, well until 7:30a which seemed late to us. Got dressed and headed off to MK. Had a little time to kill before our character breakfast so headed straight to PoC. Enjoyed that, then back up Main Street to Tonys. With only a short wait, we were seated near the front and right off the bat, there was Eeyore. He really liked Phil, putting his ear over Phils head repeatedly. The food was great!! We each polished off a plate and proceeded to split a second one really didnt need it but loved those potatoes!! Saw all the characters but my favorite is Tigger so really had fun hanging with him and got lots of pictures. Rolled out from there and back up Main Street to the Hall of Presidents and then a train ride around the park. Got back to Main Street station and decided to head out since it was starting to drizzle.
Back at the room we had a nice long break since the weather was not cooperating for us to go trudging around AK. Went to RFC in AK and moved up our lunch PS to 2:30p. And boy, did we eat!!! Im really surprised I didnt gain any weight after eating all that food!! Our waitress was terrific and when I showed her our Lunch Vouchers, she suggested we go all out. So we started with chicken quesadillas, then split a 14 oz. aged ny sirloin that was melt-in-your-mouth with 1/2 stuffed lobster and key lime pie for dessert. We tipped her well she deserved it!!!
After some shopping at the RF gift shop, we found that the rain had stopped so we headed into AK to catch the Jammin Jungle parade. This is one of my favorite parades!!! Stumbled on a great viewing spot on the walkway up to the seating area for the Flametree high enough up so we could see over everyones heads. Since the park was closing, we headed back to the room to dump my backpack, then off to do some shopping at DTD. Spent lots of money!!! Thought wed catch to boat back, but it was raining and there had been lightning spotted so they shut it down for the night so we caught the bus back instead. I love how short a ride it is from DTD to POFQ!! Back to the room for some TV and much needed sleep.
