FINALLY headed back to FW!

Hi all. I am new here. I have been reading tons of posts lately.. getting brushed up on what's going on at FW. We just bought a used pop-up and of course the first thing I did was make a reservation for Fort Wilderness!!!... not til Easter break though (ugh, am I crazy since it will be so crowded!?).

I am so excited because as a kid, my family used to go to FW at least once a year. I LOVED it! I have so many fond memories of it.... capturing lizards, going to the petting "zoo" and River Country (wish they were still there), horseback riding, riding bikes, water pageant (my poor parents- think I made them watch it every night!), and on and on. My husband and I have 3 boys and we are so excited to take them camping- especially to the Fort!

I am still trying to figure out where to stay. As a kid, we always requested the 100/200 loop. I tentatively have reservations for there. It was so nice to be close to the things up front, but then again, I am sure we will be spending a lot of time at the pool. Would you all suggest I keep them there, or go for the full hookup sites? Are they closer together or less woodsy then the 1600+ sites? just curious. I want my kids/husbands first trip there, and my first trip back to be relaxing and fun! I can't wait... hopefully, this will be the start of many trips back to FW!

If you have three boys and plan on spending a lot of time at the pool, I would suggest that you spring for a Premium site. I would request the 400 or500 loop. You will be in between the pool and the Settlement that way. In my opinion, that would be a much better location for you than the 100/200 loop. It is a hike to the pool from there.

Thanks! I'll definitely consider that. We are headed to Disney in 3 weeks- staying at BCV. I think we are going to try to head over to the Fort to check it out! Can't wait!
