Hey peeps,

We got back a couple of weeks ago but I started a new job just after but I've finally got round to my highs and lows

Old Key West -I just love the vibe of the place. We were there on a real mixture of DVC point and cash bookings , 4 separate ones over 3 weeks. Not only did the staff put keep us in the same room throughout but it was close to hospitality house which we hadn't managed to book. They even moved the rest of our family there after the first night. Awesome customer service. The grounds are lush and feel so intimate and laid back. My new favourite DVC resort!

Magic Bands - I never thought I would say this but after a rocky start they have this right. Not one glitch on any of our 6 bands all holiday.

Sweet Tomatoes - Such a refreshing change, as always, from the park food

Jungle Skipper Canteen - We literally walked up one evening and were seated in 5 minutes. The food was lovely and different from other WDW restaurants. Would recommend the veggie curry

Disney Transport - We are big users of the bus and boat service and contrary to popular views, rarely stand and rarely wait more than 10 minutes

The new DVC lounge in Epcot - Lovely and cool and calm, just what you need for a mid afternoon break plus free coffee and soft drinks and an excuse for the kids to meet other kids and play.

Lows

Portabello Country Italian Restaurant - Over priced and a bit bland to be honest. I've had just as good at Olive Garden

We had to come home.

And to be honest, that's it. We had a great time

Sounds great!! I'm pleased to read your thoughts on OKW especially - staying there for the first time in ten days! Did you walk to Disney Springs at all? I've been told there is a path as long as you dont mind a bit of a trek!

I really enjoyed Sweet Tomatoes when we went there. We ended up walking from it to Disney Springs. Wasn't too bad.

It was so nice to have salad haha!

Glad you had so many highs - we love OKW too the staff there are great :goodvibes

My husband got up very early every morning and ran to Disney Springs and back but it is quite a long way. It took him about 45 minutes so I suspect it's at least a 5 miles round trip. Even though he prefers to walk whenever he can, he never suggested walking to the Springs. I suspect that in the heat of the day it's a nightmare.

We popped into the lounge at Epcot too. I wish they had one in every park! X

We've stayed at OKW for many years and didn't have a clue you could WALK to Disney Springs! Tell me more, where is it? how far is it?

Thanks for giving your thoughts on the Skipper Canteen. I really want to try this on our next visit (Dec 2017) and now you've just sealed it for me :cool1:
