Finally got Chef Mickey's lunch after 4 calls

I finally got a Chef Mickey's lunch for 8/17 after I called 4 times. The first 3 CMs that I talked to told me there wasn't any lunches during Free Dining. They wouldn't even check for me, finally I got a really nice CM who checked and said, "You are right, they are having lunch." So my advice to everyone, is to keep trying.

Congratulations but FYI to others...I tried to book CM Lunch the first week of Sept and it was a No Go. The CM checked the dates and said it is only available from 8/16-8/29 and from 9/20-10/3 for lunch. Perhaps they will open up more dates at another time but that is all that is available now.

That's interesting. I wonder if the week I am there (9/26-10/3) is busier than earlier weeks in Sept. Good to know, thanks for sharing.

I am confused. I thought that Chef Mickey was only open until 11:30am, and then closes until 5pm. That it is only breakfast and dinner. Where did you hear they are open for lunch? If so - what is the lunch menu.

They only open it for lunch during Free Dining. And from the previous post, only specific weeks of Free Dining. Not sure about the menu.

Persistence is key. I've many times had to politely hang up on one CM and just call back...

I was able to get a 1:30 adr on Aug 23rd I was really calling for an earlier dinner time(I had 9:05PM) but what a pleasent surprise to get lunch!

Yes, it should be busier. More people come in at the tail end of free dining, I think, hoping for better weather and to catch the beginning of F&W Fest. Also, I think it's easier to take kids out of school after they've been in a month rather than having them miss the first week or so. We've been at the end of September a couple of times and the parks weren't empty. Crowds picked up the closer we got to October 1. However, it is still less crowded than most other times of year and still fairly easy to tour and accomplish as much as you want to, IMO.

I know i too was looking for an earlier dinner (had 8:00) i got a 2:15 lunch which i was so thrilled about. Now Im able to eat, go back to the pool for a while, and then go into the park at night. Plenty of time for everything makes life much easier

I know i too was looking for an earlier dinner (had 8:00) i got a 2:15 lunch which i was so thrilled about. Now Im able to eat, go back to the pool for a while, and then go into the park at night. Plenty of time for everything makes life much easier

i wanted dinner but got a 1:35 lunch on 8/28....after thinking about it i thought like you...this actually my be better. wondering about food though. They usually have time to clean up from breakfast and make dinner. this may be interesting.........

Gosh, I hope not!! We'll be there 9/28-10/5. But it is F&W festival time so it is supposedly a bit busier. Never been at this time though. We usually go right before F&W & the parks are always pretty empty. Here's hoping!!

That's exactly what we have planned. I didn't want be at the park just to leave for Chef Mickey and then go back for EMH.

So since CM has a character bfast and dinner, I assume this will be a character lunch as well? Just making sure before I try to call in the am to try for 8-22-09 lunch. If I can get this, my kids will be thrilled!!! Only ADR beside F! package we DIDN'T get for our trip at a time that worked for us.

Thanks OP for posting this!! I have been trying for 3 months for an ADR and it's the only one I could not get...I called this morning and got a breakfast on 6/7 at 9:55 am, this will work out great for us! Call now if you need a ressie!

Called this morning at 9:00 am and was able to book a 2:15 lunch ADR @ CM for August 22. The CM tried to give me the "CM's closes at 11:30 and doesn't reopen until dinner " speech but I asked her very nicely to check that I read on the Internet that lunch had been added due to the demand during the free dining promotion. She checked and of course, I (ya'll) were right. My DD's are very happy And to make it even better, I was able to get PSB for 9-29 also!!
