Finally got a pin! No wait...it's an email for the general public offers???

So after weeks of saving and deleting itineraries and vacation offers...I logged into my email this evening to see an email from Disney Destinations! My heart pounded as I clicked on the email to see what two offers would be in store for me (as the subject line implied I would have two deals to pick from). The left-hand side listed FREE DINING!!! I was filled with excitement as I scrolled down to read the details of the offer...low and behold the dates read 8/15/10–10/2/10. I was in complete shock to see that I got a pin code for the same deal on the Disney website that's available to the general public! The same applied for the second offer, which was for 30% on stays at a value resort, which is also the same offer available to the general public from 8/15/10–10/2/10.

I now realise that it's not a pin code at all, it's an email with a link to their special offers website, but the email looks exactly like a pin code email. Has anyone else received one of these thinking the same thing as me and in turn being disappointed? :sad2:

Yep. That's how I felt (until I got the Monster pin). Keep plugging away at the registered email -- it can still happen!

I got the same offer.. oddly enough, it starts on the 15th of august.. the same day thay i will be LEAVING from my 2 week vacation i booked WITH A PIN!

I too checked my email and yep same one!!!!!!!:sad1: So thought it was a pin!!!:rolleyes1

DH just came home with that same email printed out for me. I said 'holly cow...you got another one'. He has had 3 PINS in the last year. When I read through it I also realized that this was the same as the general public offer.

Oh well.....he won't be coming on the next trip anyway so I'll keep hoping for a PIN in my email.

How frustrating for all of us! Let's cross our fingers that actual pin codes get sent to us soon! I can't use the monster code for those dates so I'm hoping for a 30-35% off moderate or free DDP.

Does anyone know if Disney has always sent emails advertising their general public offers that look exactly like their PIN emails? Although it may disappoint us at first I'm sure it does it's job to keep Disney on our minds and keep us looking out for other emails!
