Finally got a PIN and I'm not sure if I can use it?

Hi Dis Board!

I got a pin emailed me today for free dining. It actually lists my dates for my upcoming trip. I will be upgrading to deluxe dining. I clicked the booking link in the email and rebooked my trip exactly as booked now and I am saving $225. So it is worth the hassle of cancelling/rebooking.

Now on to the tough questions...

I traveled last year with my Aunt. The pin was sent to my email but in my Aunt's last name :confused3. She is not traveling with me this year and we have different last names. Will they let me use it since it was sent to me?

My other question is will they make me rebook or can I just add the pin to my existing reservation. I am 30 days out so I am not even sure if I can cancel my current reservation.

Thanks for any insight!! I've never received a pin before so I am not quite sure what to do here.

1. Since it came to your email there is certainly a chance you can use it. It's worth the call to find out.

2. I believe they could just add the pin code and you wouldn't need to cancel your current reservation (depending on availability of resort/room for that PIN).

3. Seeing as how you are 30 days from your trip changes the picture a bit. If you already have a package booked you are within your window of change fees. If you package total is lowered with the PIN code you will likely have to pay the change fees. If it's a break even or slight increase (due to upgraded resort or dining) then you shouldn't have to pay extra). Of course if your savings is greater than the change fees if could be worth it either way.

Hope this helps a little. Have a great trip! :wizard:

Thanks! I definitely plan to call first thing tomorrow. If it doesn't work, it's fine as I will still be enjoying the magic either way!

Any amount of saving $$ is worth it to me. Money is money. Why pay extra for something if you dont have to ? :confused3

Best thing you can do is call to find out, but in our experience they're strict about the name on the offer. It is frustrating, because I've had PINs come to my adresses (postal and e-mail) in my mother's name since she sometimes travels with us and they were firm that only the person the PIN is addressed to can use it.

I called and they let me use it! I simply said I had been provided a PIN via email and she made a change to the reservation. She didn't say anything about the name when I provided the PIN (so I didn't either) and she waived the change fee! Provided my refund amount and verified my email to send me updated booking info. Must be a bit of pixie dust in the air today. :lovestruc
