I wanted to add a small contract to add my best friend who always goes on vacation, but can't take part in DVC perks. The tiny contracts are available, but so popular they frequently are gone before you can call about them.

I already have 400 points at BCV and actually found a 25 point contract with 2013 points, stocked and in the same use year as my contract! Whoo hoo!!!!

I'm paying through the nose at $115 a point, but the likelihood of finding it again in the future i figured i'd just pay asking price.

I have to say there are many sites including the timeshare store who i found it through, that try to keep you updated, but it's easy to miss the post on FB or their homepage and miss a good opportunity. I actually found it first by using one of the DVC resale search web pages first and they pointed me back to the timeshare store since it wasn't even on their site yet.

I have to make it through ROFR, but i can't say the $115 pp purchase price is something they would have a problem with.

Overall, I'm a happy camper and I just made my best friend an awesome present for the next 28 years. :thumbsup2

Congratulations! I understand how you feel. I just got my 25 point add on I've been looking for forever. We're paying $90 a point for BWV but it is just what we're looking for! So happy!

Congratulations to you both! I am in the same boat, always looking for a small contract at VWL. Finally found a 25 point contract, paid the asking $95...but like you both said this has been a contract we really wanted :) best wishes for a smooth transaction! :wizard:

Yup. For 25 points at the Beach Club you pretty much need to pay what was asked. It is the best resort overall IMHO. So, well done!

We area life long Disney family but have a mere 50 points at the Boardwalk. It gets us our Jan vacation and cheap season tkts. We still do it the old fashioned way in May still but might someday add points to cover that time too.

What's the direct price at BWV? On a 25 point contract, it seems the difference between resale at $115 and direct at $130 (I think) wouldn't be worth the hassle of resale.

When you factor in closing costs it's pretty much the same price ... With incentives it's about 122 direct.

I am on wait list for 55 BCV points which are the same cost direct as BCV. I was told they are $130 pp unless you are a member adding on at least 50 points...then you get $7 off pp. The closing costs are cheaper with direct so that takes total price down. I was told mine will be $129 or something close to that.

I am paying $90 per point. I am saving $1000. I realize closing costs factor in but they're only $300 for my resale. There is a waiting list for direct and this contract is the use year I need. I don't mind a bit of extra work.

I don't think there are any incentives unless you're buying more than 50 points. With closing costs I am still saving almost $900.

I stand corrected. The incentives apply to 50 points or more. Although I can't see you saving $900. Beach club is selling for 130 without incentives and closing costs are only 130 vs 400 for resale. You maybe be saving a couple hundred bucks. The hassle of resale wouldn't make that worth it to me. I own both direct and resale points but for small add ons I just go direct.

Good score! A couple of years back we purchased 100 BCV, then I discovered (newbie) that we'd probably need 107 for a week..so I was on the hunt for a small contract. Found 60 points six months later in the right use year and jumped on it. Someone beat me to the punch, but I told them to keep me on a wait list in case it fell through, and lo and behold, three weeks later I got a call from the time share store...the contract was mine IF I wanted it at full asking price. At the time it was $83 and we accepted....so, the next time we were looking for VWL I made sure to look for a contract of 125 to 150.

I stand corrected also. I'm saving $840. My points are BWV and we're paying $90 per point with closing costs at $300. I was getting ready to go direct actually but then this came up with the use year I'm looking for and it's not stripped. I've never gone direct so I really don't know the difference.

That is a good deal. Congrats. For some reason I thought you bought BCV at over 110 per point.

I have been monitoring small resales at both BCV And BWV and could not find anything in my use year

OP is paying $115; DisneyDiana paid $90.

I just added 100 points through Disney because I wanted the same use year and i didn't want to wait. It was $123/pp because of a $7 rebate pp. it took about 4-5 months on the waiting list but it came in november so I got it fully loaded and could bank the 100 points even though the traditional banking window had passed.

I really just wanted a small contract for my friend, but the minimum through disney was 50pts. It was still $130 pp through them.

By getting the 25 point contract, after the closing and dues, it ended up being $133 pp adjusted but I don't mind. I got the smaller contract and my friend now is a DVC member too.

Congrats! Are you aware that if you are buying this with both your names, and your other contract is in your name only, It will be considered a new membership and not an add on.? Only contracts titled the same way can be added on.
