Man I have been a mad mad mad planner for almost 4 months now, but I have finally decided our vacations plans.

My DS (12) and I are staying for 3 days at the All-Stars Movie Resort. then doing a 3 day cruise and coming back to an offsite hotel for 3 more days at Universal.

I booked everything separately and came up with a $3000 vacation.

Is that good? better yet, does anyone have discount codes?

Hello,

It's hard to tell how good a deal you worked out without knowing the dates, and the ticket/cruise level you picked. All in all, 3 grand sounds a bit on the high side in my opinion , but I tend to use AP discounts, and travel in off peak times.

Take care,

Bill

Sounds like you have done a GREAT job! $3K for the two of you, for a 9~day vacation? :goodvibes Does the WDW stay include everything else (park tickets, etc)? What type of cruise are you taking? Have you included the transportation to/from WDW (to port canaveral)? Does this also include the passes to US/IOA? Airfare or other transportation too? If so...I'm impressed~!! :flower:

Enjoy your efforts, and have a GREAT TIME on your journey together!

I got the magic your way, and admission to other disney areas (i.e. disney quest)
What type of cruise are you taking?

the cruise is a 3-day disney wonder cruise, with deluxe inside stateroom

Have you included the transportation to/from WDW (to port canaveral)?

this does include ground transportation to/from wdw and port canaveral, as well as transportation around wdw and all the amenities

Does this also include the passes to US/IOA? Airfare or other transportation too?

yes, that included 3 day park hopper passes to Universal Orlando, plus hotel for 3 days/2nights.

We are going to greyhound to Florida for $300 roundtrip.
That also includes the $2.50 it costs to take the orlando bus system to disney property from the kissimmee greyhound station.

unfortunately, we have boy scout camp in August and school schedule. Besides, my DS will turn 13 on the last day of the cruise. I wanted to spend some time with him before he "outgrew" mom, lol

I think your trip sounds great and it sounds like a terrific deal to me!!

I love that you want to spend some special time with your son - I have a 14 year old son and it is kind of sad how fast time went. He kind of rolls his eyes about my love of WDW now. I remember when he used to wear his Mickey hat and fanny pack and love to stop at Main Street Confectionary for Donald PEZ to carry in his pack and the cool Mickey comb and sunglasses he picked out at the Emporium. He used to be so cute!! (he still is, but in a different way)

Enjoy your trip and your son!!

Rhonda, that sounds like a wonderful trip, and it is so great you can do this together before he gets older! That is why we are taking our trip coming up, before our DS turns 13...it is sad they grow up too fast.
But have fun! sounds like you guys will have a blast!

Rhonda~Thanks for taking time to share your answers to my questions! :)

YES...you have dotted every "i" and crossed every single "t" in preparation for this trip! I think you have done an astonishing job, and again...must say I'm impressed. :goodvibes You two will ADORE the time at Disneyworld...absolutely LOVE the time aboard the DISNEY WONDER *(we've taken this cruise...it's FAB), and have a memorable time in US/IOA (we also visit here each summer)! :cloud9:

You should be patting yourself on the back, for all the planning...and for your heartfelt desire to share this time with your DS *(before he outgrows his mom). From the looks of things, I suspect this will not happen anytime soon. I'm sure he treasures you for the wonderful woman you are.

Be sure to notify the cruise ship reservation department of his Birthday (if you have not done so), as the cake they present at the dining table is truly special!! He will forever cherish the memories of this summer, and the amazing adventure you lovingly planned for the two of you. :wizard:

With your "Mission Accomplished," you may now sit back...relax, and "fine-tune" any small details! What a "Time" you two will surely have!!! Bring lots of film, etc., to capture the moments. For, looking back...we do not remember days...we remember "moments." :cheer2: :cool1: :sunny:

Enjoy!!!

thanks and no prob for answering your questions. I am using my income tax return and I have to pay bills and buy a car, so planning so hard has mostly been so that my refund will stretch and I can do everything I need to do with it.
