The DW and I have been looking into the DVC for some time just never pulled the trigger. I had never been to Disney prior to meeting my wife 8 years ago and we took our first trip for our Honeymoon "totally her choice" 6 years ago. Been back 3 more times since then and planning another late this Oct. Ended up stumbling upon the resale market and with the prices it was more than enough to make us take the leap.

Submitted for ROFR on Mar 16th
Passed ROFR on Apr 4th
Received closing documents Apr 13th
Mailed back documents and money on Apr 14th

Insert what seemed like 2 months here

Confirmation we closed on Apr 22nd

Ended up with 151 points from 2009, all of 2010, and in Nov will receive 2011 points.

Besides seeming to take forever, was a pretty painless evolution. Now we know that our children (4, 2, and newest due in Oct) will have many fun times coming in the near future. And yes ... I tried talking her into a different date for the trip this year but she insisted on going a couple weeks after our newest addition so she could indoctrinate him/her as early as possible.

Now we just have to wait another 7-14 days until we get into the system to make our plans.

Congratulations!

So, what's your home resort?

Congrats on your new family addition also!

Congrats on your purchase! Not that you need kids to enjoy DVC, but since you do, what a wonderful way to treat them (and yourselves) for many years to come. Welcome home! :thumbsup2

Congratulations. I am sure your family will love AKV. A great place to teach the children about other ways to enjoy life with animals.

seems like your resale process actually went quite a bit faster than other - including mine. i submitted 2 days after you (3/18) passed ROFR 4/5. still have no closing documents. every time i contact our resale agent or title company they tell me we are slated to close 5/18 and there is nothing they can (or are willing) to do to speed up the process. i understand there was a rush and all, and i know i waited till the last minute, but i was really hoping to be in the system before our 6/1 anniversary trip. i dont need it for the room (already have cash ressies that im happy with) but need it for the dvc ap and other perks.

It was a rather quick and painless process Diz ... sorry to hear about yours. I would consider honestly call or email them and ask where the closing documents are. Mine were delivered via email and I had to print them off and send them back and we received them 9 days after passing ROFR. I know it may be a hold-up with the large number that I am sure is out there but I would still call and ask where they might be.

Congrats and WELCOME HOME!:woohoo:

We just stayed at AKV-Kidani this past Thanksgiving and it was WONDERFUL! My two boys LOVED the animals. Enjoy your new Home:thumbsup2
