After a few attempts, I have finally convinced my friends to join us for 10 days at the Fort in 2015. There will be 23 of us on 3 tent sites. (And that's only 4 families!!)

I am super excited as I have been dreaming of staying there since my 1st trip to Disney in 2007.

I have a couple of questions.....

We will be setting up 1 `kitchen` area for cooking and eating together... Will the sites be close enough together that we can eat together and all have quick access to our coolers and such?

Some of the older kids want to do the water parks and Quest... I know that when booking a package, you have to book the same for all in your group, but am I able to update only their tickets once we get there or do I have to get it for all?

TIA :)

Nancy,

Have you made a reservation yet? IIRC, when you call the reservation line (which I would advise over reserving on-line), one of the questions in the telephone queue is how many people are in your party. Given your number (wow, good for you) you should be routed to a Cast Member who books groups (aka Grand Gatherings). You should get a GG number for the other folks to use when calling to make their reservations (if they are reserving their own sites). The GG # (which is separate from your reservation number) is a tipoff that you are a group and the Fort assigner a few days before you arrive should attempt to place you adjacent, across from, or near each other.

I think this is still the policy but if I'm wrong someone will correct me.

Hi Nancy,

I'm a fellow Canuck . . . just a few hundred miles west of you.

You will love Fort Wilderness.

I agree with Bama Ed, you need to have your reservations "linked" to be sure you are given sites adjacent to each other.

I recommend that you, and your friends, use a travel agent who specializes in Disney and is familiar with Fort Wilderness. They can make sure the linkage is in place for you.

There is no cost to you and they always seem to save us money!

If you send me a personal message I'd be happy to give you the name of a terrific agent you can call.

Definitely make sure you get a grand gathering setup to link the reservations. In the past it has gotten us in RV sites usually next or accross from each other. Even this year we where only 2-3 sites away from each other and there was really no issue bouncing between the sites. But do not plan on a complete gaurentee that you will be next to each other and leave your plan flexible enough that when you setup the cooking area you use the most central site.
