Hi Everyone!! We've been dreaming of Aulani for years, and booked our villa almost 9 months ago. We just booked our flights this week. I can't believe we're finally at the 6 month mark. Yay!!!

My question is, what sorts of things do I need to book 6 months in advance? The CM must've mentioned something back when I originally made my reservation because I put the 6 month mark in my calendar, but can't remember why. Is that when I make restaurant reservations? Kids club reservations? Cabana reservations? Excursions?

Please help because we don't want to miss out on anything!!! TIA!

Aunty's is 90 days out you register. I am not sure how far in advance you can get restaurant and or cabana reservations. Try making reservations online for the restaurants. For the cabanas you have to call the resort to book.

The spa opens at 90 just like Aunty's pre-registration. Others have made it sound like the cabanas book really early, but I didn't try, so maybe that? Do make the dinner reservations soon if you're set for a certain time that you want to plan other activities around; plenty of reports that you can get same-day reservations, but with kids - not as much flexibility with mealtimes! Those are all really easy to cancel if your plans change; Aulani themselves told me they would rather have us book more than we thought we'd need and cancel later. I wouldn't worry about the excursions just yet. I only booked mine a few weeks ago, for May/June trip. Not once was I unable to get the specific day and time I wanted. When we booked Aulani last year, they were pretty low-key about the excursion part - said we could book with them on the phone before or online, or just do it when we got there, for the ones they suggest anyway. I didn't actually book any of those - but like I said, I was able to get everything I wanted less than 2 months out. If you're renting a car, that would be something to do early b/c you can always cancel if a better deal comes up. I booked that in January, and I've only seen rates go up and availability go down when I've checked around since then.

Cabanas you can certainly do. I did some at around 11 months out.

You can also start getting your restaurant reservations. If it isn't a terribly busy time, you would likely be able to get reservations at the last minute, but I always think it is nice to have some plans already established for a particular special breakfast or dinner.

Thank you so much for your responses!! I really don't know what I was thinking. It sounds like I have to wait until the 3 month mark to make reservations. I must be overly excited & anxious! :yay:

I just reread my post about the cabanas, and wow, I sound bossy!! I should have ended it with a :daisy: or something so you knew it was in good spirits!! Hope you got your cabana booked so those cute girls in your siggy won't be sunburned!! Have a great trip!!

I would recommend making your dining reservations now since you can book those 6 mos in advance - esp for Makahiki Restaurant for character breakfast and Ama Ama for dinner reservations. Just my 2 cents :hippie:

That's what I wasn't sure about. I tried making them online but it wouldn't let me, so I thought maybe I had to wait for the 90 day mark. I'll try it again. Thanks so much!!

We are at the 6 month mark too, I made dinner reservations and am waiting patiently to do Aunties and Spa o_O

Really? Did you make them online or did you call? I tried making them online over the weekend and it woudn't let me. Maybe I'll try calling them. Thanks so much. I'm going to get right on this! :-)

We will be there Oct 16-21st and I made reservations for the 17,18,19 and 20th online. I had to wait a couple days to make the 19 & 20th.

Eh, its hawaii not orlando. There's nothing to worry about there, you can just relax and enjoy it for the most part. We were there in march and didnt have any trouble doing anything.
