Finally a decision!! YAHOO!!

Okay...after very long deliberation and endless hours of discussion (and many many helpful responses from you guys!), DH and I have decided to buy DVC through Disney. We were originally going to go through re-sale BUT...the financing through Disney seems so simple and I really like the WLV. Now, I do understand that MB has changed starting yesterday and that the price per point is going up to $75 by June.

Once we call Julie, our guide, to finalize and "close" how long does the process typically take? I am just curious.

ALSO...DH and I currently have our home on the market and looking to move (interest rates are low--we wanted to enjoy that!)--I wonder if the financing people at Disney are going to have a problem with that. I say that because when I called our Mortgage Rep, she said that she couldn't approve us for a home-equity loan for the DVC while our house was on the market. Does this make sense??

Does anyone have any input??!! Can't wait to buy in and come home! YAPPEE!!

sorry, I can't answer any of your questions, because honestly I don't remember how long it took. and we bought dvc 8 months before we bought our house. Wow, I just realized that dvc was our first "home" LOL!!!

congratulations again!!! let me know what's happening!!!
we just cahnged our sept vacation to october 20 - 28th. we've booked VWL, but are onthe waitlist for BWV, but I'm starting to wonder if we should stick w/VWL, thinking it would be great to try it out! You're not going during that time, are you??? next time we end up in the world together, there's a table in park fare waiting for us!!!

hi: i think it took almost a month originally and less than a month with the add on we did in the fall. your guide can advise you of the timeframe.

We just bought at VWL in February. It took 22 days to clsoe from when we signed the papers. It was much faster than I anticipated. It was also painless!

Thanks for the replies!! Yes, I think that's why we want to go through Disney. It seems much easier and (almost too easy?!)less stressful. I can't wait to book our first vacation with DVC.
