Final thoughts
A superb trip from start to finish. Having the insider information gleaned from this board was invaluable. I must admit to forgetting some of it but was just so overwhelmed to be there that I just wanted to plunge in and experience it. Made lots of plans and for the most part these went well and to plan. The most important thing I believe is to remember that if the plans do go awry that it is not the end of the world and sometimes the most spontaneous happenings are those that will be remembered the longest.
We did miss a lot when I look back at the guides. Some of this was personal/family choices and some being realistic with the effect the heat and humidty had on us. Thee were no big blow-ups which could have happened if we had gone on all day and not came back to our little green paradise to re-charge not only the golf cart but ourselves.
Staying on-site was expensive but being able to park hop contributed to the magic and continued enjoyment of WDW. We also saved some time and money by having the full kitchen where we ate breakfast every day and so could stagger the bathroom rota.
Fort Wilderness was an experience on its own. We wanted to bring the golf cart home with us and could have made a holiday just in FW there was so much to do. I wish I could have bottled that unique aromatic aroma. We even saw an armadillo waddling along a trail on one evening.
It was a tiring although exciting week and the week in Key West was needed after this and a very hard year for both us at the college and university teaching. So no regrets about only one week in Orlando and WDW and we will have to come back one day to see the rest. But not next year as we have a holiday planned with the lions.
