Bit of a rant: I don't really care for this taking-a-photo and then bringing it to the table and trying to charge you 35$ for it. It seems SO WASTEFUL. Seriously, when you turn them down, they just go throw it away?? I am going to start refusing to do the photo.

I feel the same way. What do they do with that hard copy? When the pp+ came out you got all hard copies. Very cool...so then I was ok with it. Then they switched to mm. You get the digital copy... but not the hard. Come on.. really? So assuming I get the mm for the trip I would still get have the pp photographer take the pic. If I didn't... I would just have them use my camera and tell them I didn't want to have the pp taken.

The food was fantastic, as always, but overshadowed by characters. There. I said it. In the past, lunch was NOT a character meal and we all agreed that we preferred it without characters. First of all, it's too crowded. The characters barely have any room and you are squeezing around trying to get a photo. Secondly, you are constantly looking around, trying to cram your food in your face or chew before they walk up. Not really relaxing. Then there was the awkwardness. I'm not sure why, but it was just really strange with these characters, Donald in particular. He just kind of stood there and the girls were really uncomfortable.

This was where Savannah finally proclaimed that she preferred face characters more now. It's funny because when she was younger it was the exact opposite! Anyway, we could have done without them, to be honest, and that's ok! I think in the future we will do non-character meals and save meet and greets for around the parks.

I LOVE TH.. but I totally agree with you on how awkward a meal with characters can be. Some are definitely worse than others.

THIS HAPPENS when you have a large lens on your camera and people notice you.

I love this show because instead of birds doing tricks on bicycles, the actual focus is on conservation and birds in their real habitat. They throw in humor with the HUMANS, which works perfectly and makes it a fun show.

Ahhhh, my ride! It was fabulous, as ever, and when we got off the verdict was in! She liked it!!!

Good thing since I NEVER just do EE once. Around we went and into standby, which was a 15 minute wait...but it wasn't. It was practically walk-on. Late February on a Monday at AK at 3pm...love it.

Glad she liked it And.. you are so brave I do really enjoy EE...but once is about all I can handle.

PW was fun and jerky, as always.

I really enjoy PW... not everyone does. I have a hard time getting my family to ride it with me.

The girls were ready to use their 3pm FP's for Kali River, so we headed over there. I opted not to go, I always get soaked and I couldn't take the camera. I went to the bridge where you can watch people go by, I actually had no recollection of this area...we hadn't gone on Kali since our first visit, always go when it's under refurb in the winter.

I have not been on Kali in so very long. I am not a fan of getting wet. The girls wanted to get more wet?

I love EE, one of my fav rides in WDW! I do not like Kali River Rapids though, I always get soaked. Not just wet, soaked like I jumped in the water soaked...ahhh.

Thanks! It's one of my favorites as well, I just love it! Yep, SOAKED the first time I went on Kali...which was the LAST time I went on it.

I think the girls got off too easy on KRR. There should be a rule if you're not at least 50% soaked, you MUST ride again immediately and get to go to the head of the line!!

Yep, they actually WANTED to get more wet than they did, they were a bit disappointed!

Your pictures are great. It's funny about which characters people prefer. I really don't like face characters that much (can't get away from the fact that it's just an actor/CM), but something about the non-face characters lets me buy in more even though I know (also an actor/CM). And, in January we saw talking Mickey for the first time and he sort of freaked me out.

I also really enjoy the FOW show. The birds are beautiful and treated with respect.

Oh the talking Mickey might be too much for me! I normally don't like the face characters as much either, but this trip they were great with the girls, better than the non-face characters? Not sure why, maybe their age?

Just an FYI- I am pretty sure they have stopped printing pictures at most of the places that used to (Tusker, Ohana, HDD, Luau). They will still take the picture, just not print it. You can get it put on your Magic Band.

The two Princess meals (Cindy and Norway) are the exception.

Savannah's face is pretty funny with the characters at Tusker. She's like.. 'really?'

Yes! They were crazy. We scheduled it for the end of the day so if they got soaked it wouldn't be a big deal, so I guess they just expected to get more wet.

So sorry I have been away for so long. It's been busy here, Rey was home and then we rescued a tiny feral kitten and it's like having a baby again! I really want to finish up this trip report so I don't have a TR AND a PTR going at the same time. Feels like too much...or maybe I'm just lazy.

In any case, when I left off we were finishing up Animal Kingdom. The girls had just gotten off Kali and although they wished they had gotten wetter, they were ready to shop a bit as we headed out of the park. We ran into the parade just finishing up...

They wanted to shop a bit and find some more penny machines, so that's what we did! The girls also grabbed a snack and sat on a bench for a bit, discussing what we were going to do that evening.

My notes say we headed out at 5pm back to Pop. They also say that I went down to the food court for a snack when we got back, but I have no recollection (or photo...GASP!) of this. If I don't take a picture, it didn't happen.

This is why you also don't wait MONTHS to finish your TR.

So, off we went to DTD for the evening! When we arrived, I tried, in vain, AGAIN, to get a shot of the twinkle lights.

I do it every trip and FAIL every trip. Here's why...they are TWINKLE lights and are TWINKLING! At different intervals. NOT possible to get a photo unless I have a tripod...but yet I keep trying. Savannah took a video and that turned out well. I don't know how to upload video's though, so you are just out of luck. They are seriously my favorite thing about DTD. The music would be the 2nd thing...THEN the shopping.

We shopped around a bit but then headed to Wolfgang Puck to eat b/c we were hungry. We sat outside and really enjoyed it. Eleanor called her parents and went on and on about our day. It was so nice to see that she was enjoying the trip!

The pizza at WGP Express is SO good. My veggie pizza:

I abandoned my camera for shopping for most of the remainder of the night. I know, shocking! I sat for a while and let the girls shop and talked to Rey on the phone. At some point we decided we HAD to get Ghirardelli's (geez, I can never spell that right) because we are always full and never end up getting it. The wait was horrendous and I think they messed up our order b/c many people after us had already gotten theirs, but finally we had them! Tah-dah! Here is what 34$ of ice cream looks like:

So expensive, but VERY good! Eleanor and I had the salted caramel sundae and Savannah had dark mint chocolate? Really good but after the price tag and the wait I was kind of happy we haven't done this every trip.

I was on the phone with Rey and the girls came out of Basin (oooh, we got some awesome bath bombs there!) and I heard a familiar sound...

The CUPID SHUFFLE!!!! I told Rey I had to go, my song was on...and off I went to dance. C'mon, it's the ONLY dance I know and can retain (probably b/c a 2 year old could remember it) so when I hear it, watch out! It's dance time!

It was the dance party! We LOVED this last year, it was the highlight of our mother/daughter trip in 2012. They changed it and it's more just dancing instead of interactive stuff and the DJ was different, but still fun.

The girls were shy at first, but eventually they got up and hoolah hooped! That's not spelled right either.

Those were taken with my phone, so not the best quality...AND there was some video but guess what? That's right, I don't know how to post it, so you are out of luck again. I'm awesome. I come back to update and then tell you that half the stuff you don't get to see.

It was 10pm and the dance party was over so we headed out. We had a big morning the following day as we were moving to Beach Club Villas for our last two days!!!!!! Apparently Downtown Disney didn't get the memo that we needed to get back though b/c we spent over an hour trying to get back to the resort, the buses and traffic were horrible. It was a Monday night??? We made it finally and had to start packing when we got back. We were in bed before midnight, which is good b/c I woke up at 6am.

Up next, our last two days at Beach Club Villas, thanks to the generosity of my friend Lisa and her DVC points!

I agree with the comment about not being able to remember anything by waiting so long to do my Trip Report. I didn't do a journal either so I know I'm forgetting many, many things. Like you said, if there isn't a picture, it didn't happen.

I LOVE Wolfgang Pizza too. So good. We never get Ghiradelli's because the line is always so long. But those look so good. Especially since I have not eaten breakfast yet and I'm hungry. Although my oatmeal is not going to taste so good now............... because I want ice-cream.

You know, I can't even do the cupid's shuffle. So.... you have one up on me. I got up and danced at Blue Man yesterday and embarressed the heck out of Sarah. She pretended to not know me. I believe her words were "that is so inappropriate mom". So I shook my rear harder in response.

Ah, I'm such an awesome mom. The things I give my children to talk about in adult therapy.........

Ahhhh, finally to our Beach Club Villa moving day!!!!!

I have a very special friend here on the DIS, Lisa, who gifted us 2 nights of her DVC membership and we chose Beach Club! I was so excited about this split stay. Savannah LOVES Pop, but I really have wanted to try other resorts and the deluxes are not in our budget normally. I was so taken back by Lisa's kindness. I don't think I'll ever be able to repay her.

So, we stayed the first four nights at Pop and bright and early Tuesday morning it was time to move!

Ok, not really bright and early. Bright and early I got up (as usual) and had my coffee by the little pool, wrote in my journal, and talked to Rey on the phone for a while.

Packing up for a split stay was more of a hassle than I though it would be! We don't normally "un-pack" and just live out of our suitcases, but the amount of girlie-accessories was at it's height on this trip and getting it all packed up was a bit crazy. Also, I was worried about some of the items like the ipad, Eleanor's laptop...things that were in our fragile carryon stuff. We called down and were told to leave our luggage in the room and they would transfer it to BCV. This was UBERconvienent!

We went down and I checked out quickly and then the girls grabbed their last 2 snack credits for breakfast. Then we headed to the buses! We did pack our swimsuits in our park bags in case our bags didn't show up at BCV until later.

We made great time (Pop is so close to DHS) and arrived at DHS a little after rope drop. Yes, AFTER. I sometimes get there after! Like...10 minutes. I enjoyed not having to deal with the rope drop rush to TSM although only riding TSM once is the payoff for that when you can't get more FP's for it. More pretty blooms! In February! Love it.

We walked back to the Animation Class since we had until 9:25 for our FP just to find out that they didn't start the classes until 10:30. Doh! Ah well, by the time we walked over to TSM it was time for our FP!

So, we were headed to muppets. The girls found another Penny machine (I'm sparing you yet another shot of the back of them at a penny machine!)

Then we came upon the umbrella. Well. First off, it wasn't working? Huh/ Kind of takes the fun out of it. I told Savannah to pose and this is what I got...

Uh, hello?!?! I told the girls they had to get with the program. That is no way to pose with an umbrella! I had to show them how...

Good grief! Maybe I should try posing like them instead. Not the most flattering shots!

Everything came to a screeching halt at the fountain in front of Muppets. There were DUCKS. LOL.

Then we proceeded to take a million photos of "SAVANNAH'S DUCKS" for the next five minutes.

There's just something special about Disney ducks I guess.

We walked right into Muppets and afterwards it says we shopped? I don't remember this. Oh wait, I think first we went to Streets of America...

THEN we came across Stitch on our way to shop...

He was supercute with the girls! THEN we shopped (no pics, but now I remember going in the stores on our way to RnRc. We had a FP for RnRc, so that's where we headed next!

Uh...there wasn't one! It's the same shot. The girls said I should use the same shot for the after because Eleanor didn't like it! She was a good sport about it and I was glad she tried it. I was surprised she didn't like it when she liked Space Mtn and EE so much, but she said she kept coming up out of her seat (she's short so even with the shoulder things down I think there was some space) and she felt like she was going to fall out.

I was just about ready to head out, but we still had to do the Animation class! We had planned to do this with Eleanor, knowing she would love it, so off we went!

Up next...Drawing and a boat ride to our new home for the next 2 days! Whoohooo!

I am with Eleanor. I don't care for Rock N' Roller Coaster. It's a one time ride for me too. My brain has obviously shrunk with age and rattles around in my head on that ride giving me a headache.

First, what you have a life? Can't devote every moment to dis? Second, I don't think you are lazy at all. I have a hard time managing a PTR and a TR. Maybe that is why I have 6 days left of my january trip to still write about.

The lights are pretty cool. I agree atmosphere is high atop my reason for going to DTD. I certainly don't spend much when I am there and shopping.

How fun! I am afraid most of the people I travel with are not much into the group dance parties so I am a tad jealous.
