I thought this might help save your film from damage by airport x-ray machines,especially if you are traveling overseas.

Yes, this looks to be a good product. My pictures take in Orlando last month were poor quality, and the film deveoper said the film had gotten damaged. We connected in Ohare airport in Chicago, which I assume has some nasty hightech xray machines.

I will never fly again without protecting my film.

I just asked dh about getting one of these, and he said sure -- but then he asked me a question I couldn't answer! If you put your film in one of these things and it goes through the "carry-on" x-ray as a big black blob (does it?), do they make you open it and unpack it anyway?

I,m not sure but as long as it isn't gun shaped I think you would be fine!! Lots of travelers use these I'm sure airports are familiar with them.

I'm repeating myself here, but.... the new high powered scanners that these containers are designed to protect you from are only used on CHECKED luggage. The new scanners are still relatively few in number and the biggest threat to your film in checked luggage is still going to be airline "misplacement" of your baggage.

...Or you can eliminate the problem and do what I did: Go digital!
