fill me in on WDW express pass - any changes for 2014

I remember reading on here a while back about a new fast pass system coming into play something to do with hotel guests getting the fast passes.

I didn't take any notice because we had decided that last years disney trip would be out last (kids 20 and 16) and they are now more into the rides than the magic so we decided to do new types of trips cruise combined with the other parks. However, we have just booked a large family trip for Aug 2014 and the other families will definitely want disney as part of that as they have never been.

So whats the deal - did the new system start or will it start before Aug 2014- Oh and what is the new system

And as you can see I can't get my ticker to go up- what do I need to do-

The new system will be called Fastpass+ and is still in testing with no release or rollout date as yet.

They are just finishing a week long test at 2 resorts with a very small number of guests.

Fastpass+ will allow you to book select ride/shows/character meets/fireworks/parades in advance. At the moment under the tests to date you have been limited to 3 per day and only one park.

No, that is not my understanding. To be fair, as Tracy says, it is still int he testing stages at the moment so not all the details are known as to exactly how it will work.

They have extended the rides available for fast pass plus I read, I imagine so there are enough available for each eligible guest to get 3 a day. But some rides I think it can only to be to get that capacity, not because those rides have generally needed them. What will be most interesting is what this does to stand by lines once fully rolled out.
