Watched it some when it was originally on. Enjoyed the Maine characters. Caught a rerun recently, she was visiting a niece in LA, just didn't interest me. Production seemed so dated I turned it off after about 10 minutes.
I love Murder She Wrote. The big debate in my family was Murder She Wrote or Columbo. During covid I found the first 5 seasons on Amazon. It became a huge comfort show for me. Peacock has ALL 12 seasons!!! I am halfway through season 8. I watch a couple of episodes a night. It is so much fun.
I watched many episode but not all originally and in reruns. I liked it but it is not my favourite. When my eldest daughter was born my husband took a month off work. He always watched the classic TV channel at the time so Murder She Wrote, Rockford Files and Hawaii 5-O was always on in the house.
My Mom really liked it and once in a while I’d watch it with her, back in the day. She was also a fan of Father Dowling Mysteries, which had a similar premise, only with a priest (Tom Bosley was in both).
I vaguely remember the show from when I was young. I think my mom enjoyed it.
I also vaguely remember the Murder She Wrote Mystery Theater at Universal Studios Florida when we went there in the early '90s. Looks like it opened with the park in 1990 and closed in 1996.
I probably watched it some when it was a first-run show. It's nice to have some "comfort" shows. You can have it on like you would background music. I feel this way about the old movies on TCM. I seldom watch them all the way through, but there are always interesting scenes and a look back at how things were before I was born (and when I was too young to remember.) Once in a while I stumble onto something that is really good!
