Here's the setup...me, DH, DS11 and DS9 will have our car and are staying at the cabins. The first three days, we're doing Disney Parks, and then 2 days at Universal, and a day at SeaWorld. I plan on using the ferry the first 2 days (both days at MK-one for MNSSHP) and then driving to Epcot the 3rd day. To take an internal bus from the cabins to the ferry dock and then catching a bus at the end of the night at the dock back to the cabins....well REALLY, how "inconvenient" is this going to be? I like the idea of the golf carts, but don't plan on using it any other than driving to the dock and back twice. Those who ride the internal buses, please respond! Fill me in! :worship: What are these buses REALLY like?????

Thank-you!:flower3:

The internal buses run in a circle. Yellow turns into purple and goes around the outer edge of the fort. The orange bus goes up and down the middle and to the Lodge.

As of lately, on the orange bus, it'll run through the cabins as well as the purple bus. This was regards to cabin stayers complaining about getting to the meadows.

So if you're at the bus stop waiting for the bus, hop on the orange or the purple in the direction you want to go. When you're at the Settlement, hop on the purple bus back to your loop. As it approaches, look for the bus from the left, that says settlement yellow which turns into outpost purple (completing it's circle).

Yeah i know, I just made it all that more complicated. But there's bus maps at all the stops and you'll get one at check in.

You'll do just fine.

"inconvenient" is subjective by each individual.
All depends of what your idea of "inconvenient" is.

The bus service is not inconvenient at all. It's actually very efficient. The bus leaves the marina and makes a few stops along the way. If you get confused, just ask a CM. Also, as stated, there is a map at each bus stop. You can also get a bus from the outpost to Epcot. That way you can sit and relax. If you are out for adventure, take the boat to The Contemporary and hop on the monorail and get off at The Ticket and Transportation Center. You can then get on the monorail to Epcot.

I'm a little confused. The "ferry" only runs from the TTC (Magic Kingdom Parking lot) to the MK. Are you planning on driving to the TTC and then taking the ferry over?

Or do you actually mean the motor cruiser boats that go from the Fort Wilderness Marina to MK??

If you mean the cruiser boat, then from the cabins, take Purple Settlement from the bus stop closest to your loop, then walk down to the marina.

To return, take the Purple Outpost back to the bus stop closest to your cabin loop.

If you want to go to anything in the Meadows area (main pool, movie, Meadows trading post, bike barn) take the Orange Settlement bus and it will stop in front of the Meadows trading post. To get back to your cabin from that area take the Orange Outpost bus.

If you need to go to the checkin desk from your cabin, then take the Purple or Orange Outpost bus. To return to your cabin from the Outpost bus stop, take the Purple or Orange Settlement bus.

If you treat the bus system like an attraction (and your kids will) - enjoy the ride no matter what bus you take! If you're in a hurry to get back & forth, just ask one of the drivers. Bus drivers will always tell you where to go! :scared1: (Ummmm...I mean....how to get there)

Yup...that's what I meant. ;)

Thanks everyone! I feel SO much better about managing the purple/and orange buses. I'll just have to read up a little first. :thumbsup2

Sounds like they're pretty quick usually. YAY!

You realy could park your car and use The on property transportation. The only time you will need to drive is to Universal and its not far. It seams intimidating but its very simple!

It sounds more confusing than it is. You get a pocket size map at check in you can carry with you if you are concerned.

Basically, any purple or orange bus will get you to and from the cabins to the Settlement or Outpost. Just look at the sign on the front of the bus before you get on so you know where the bus is going. The orange bus gets you to the main pool at the Meadow.

I pretty much had it down pat by halfway through my first day of my first visit. It's that simple!
