We didn't get anything from Disney reminding us to make ADR or FP+ so I wouldn't trust that. We subscribe to TouringPlans so that did give us a head's up.
I received a booklet with a magnet attached on the back cover with all of my dates (ADR, FP, on line check in) on it. I don't think they do this anymore. If you are on MDE you can go there and it will tell you how many days till your vacation. Don't wait to receive an email as the email came for my ADR and FP date late in the day after I already made reservations for both.
I always us the PS calculator gem21 listed. You put in your arrival date and it gives you 180, 60, 30, plus a bunch of other dates (105, 75, 45, etc) some of which relate to cruise line excursions, etc.
