I have a ton of figs from a local tree but we are headed out of town. Do they freeze well?

If you cook first they should be good for jam, cookies, etc. Never froze raw but other fruits like blueberries and strawberries freeze raw although they change texture a bit. Are still ok.

My Grandma used to freeze figs from her tree every year. She would peel them, cut them up and put in a small containers in the freezer. I don't know if it is necessary to peel them or not, but they do freeze.
